My Favorite/ least favorite 5 and why

My 5 favorite go as follows:

1)Kermit - like me, he was with SS from day 1.

2) Mahnu Mahnu (and his alter-ego) - I love the song "Mahnu Mahnu", as well as the other songs he did (like "Air!" and "Fat, cat, sat , hat".)

3)"Beautifull day" monster - scarry as he/she/it was, I still have many fond memories of skits involving "Beautifull Day".

4)The Martians - their skits were always so funny!

5) Simon the Sound-Man - like the martians, his skits were always hillarious!

If I could keep on going, I would list all the muppets (save one) that were created before Jim Henson passed away. The ones I listed as my favorites, though, were listed as that mainly because they are now among the many who now qualify as "The Forgotten" in my eyes.

Now for my 5 Least Favorite

1) I don't even need to say his name - reason: too many to count.

2) Zoe - she is way to self-centered for me. Plus, her laugh (along with #1's) always seems to put a knot in my stomach for some strange reason.

3) "Baby Beow" - the fact that he can speak correctly one minute then forget how the next.

4) All the monsters from "Monster Clubhouse" - self explanitory

5) I can't think of a 5th muppet to disslike, so I'll just stick Dorothy here.

My top 5 in no particular order:

1. Roosevelt Franklin. Booksmart and streetsmart.
2. Little Jerry (of...and the Monotones). Hippie muppets singing about being mad. Very cool for its day.
3. Ernie- especially from Season One. Fun-loving, not afraid to cry.
4. Zizzy Zoomers- get your copy of the Sesame Street Alphabet LP from 1971 and slap it on the turntable (if you can still find one), and go all the way to the last track on side 2.
5. Kermit- timeless, ageless.

There's no muppet I passionately hate, but a few I could do without.
1. Forgetful Jones- dumb as a brick.
2. Biff- kept making mistakes and never learned from them.
3. Fat Blue- kept getting annoyed at Grover being his waiter, but STILL insists on sitting at his station in Charlie's Restaurant. Should start brown-bagging it instead.
4. Sorry if I make some enemies here, but at least while Jim was alive, Elmo would never have gotten the overexposure he has now. Jim was an equal-opportunity Muppet employer, making sure everyone got their day in the sun.

Great idea Bryan!

  1. Grover: My all time favorite. He always will be.
  2. Oscar: He's great. He's so funny, and grouchy. He's grunny!
  3. Ernie and Bert: The dynamic duo!
  4. Big Bird: He's just so...um...Sesame Street!
  5. Cookie Monster: Such a creative character!
