Huh, I kind of wish I was a man...
Then I could play various roles.

Men have the funnest roles...I SWEAR! :O

But if I could join any play as a woman in a man's role...
I'd be Fyiero from Wicked. XD
I agree with you, men always get the better, funnier roles. Wicked is one of the few great exceptions. Also Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice or Jane Eyre. But they are the exceptions. Women are really limited in entertainment in general.

When you're a little kid in acting class, they let the girls play the boys parts because there's usually more girls in the group. Then as you get older, suddenly you're relegated to the girl parts, which are just not as exciting.

And I do think it's a shame when people think Jesus Christ Superstar is a heresy or something. It's a wonderful musical (or I believe Rock Opera is the term hehe) and shows great respect to Jesus.

Hope you do get to do some acting at some point, Marty!

I've only done plays at school around here. Let's see, I was Humpty Dumpty in Alice in Wonderland, Constable Locke in The Music Man, Mr. Carter in Our Town and a policeman in Hello Dolly! (probably my least favorite show to be in due to my small, small role). As you can see, the director I work with likes to cast me as cops; it gets annoying after a while. But the musical next year at my school is Little Shop of Horrors so let's just hope I'm in the plant!

As long as we're talking dream roles... someday, I would love a shot at Javert from "Les Misérables". That's got to be one of the most prestigious roles in all of musical theatre.

...I actually have a really long list of dream roles ranging from Shakespeare/other Renaissance playwrights, contemporary plays, one-acts, and musicals.
