I can't believe I missed this thread before any more than I can believe you were turned down for being too young Brian.
I mean, that sounds like a cop out excuse to me. Even if your character was meant to be a bit older than you as long as you could act it well then make-up could take care of the age question.

Well, actually, (I can't believe I didn't mention this earlier ), but later this month, I'm planning to audition for Beauty And The Beast (which I've always wanted to be in! ), so we can use this thread to discuss my progress with that audition, as well!
