Oh Kevin, you're always the lucky one!
Wow, I didn't know that the museum in Mahattan had all that! I've only been able to go once, but I guess I'll have to make an attempt to go there more often!

Was Once Ernie said:
Sorry, Tim, that's at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences... the people who give out the Emmys... and is in North Hollywood. Bear is going to the Museum of Television and Radio in Beverly Hills.

:stick_out_tongue:
Your absolutely right..I stand corrected. That's what I get for posting after midnight.

Still, it's a cool sculpture!

Well, I haven't gotten the chance to go to the museum yet. Just haven't had time. I was thinking I'd go yesterday, but it turns out they are closed Monday and Tuesday. So I am hoping to get over there later this week.

A few questions...
So is it true they have a whole film/video library for personal viewing? Do they have any classic old Muppet footage? Sesame Street episodes or Shari Lewis stuff? Things like that would be fun to watch.

Anyway, I can't wait. Is it also true that admission is free? I know that they appreciate donations though. I only live about 30 minutes from the museum so I intend to visit as much as I can. Can't do it all in one day!

Hey, guys! Sorry, I didn't report this sooner, but I did indeed make my way out to the Museum in Beverly Hills last week and boy was it exciting. I had never been there before and so when I got in to the building and went over to the front desk they were so nice telling me all about what they had available to do there. They said I had the option of taking the free admission or placing a small donation. I just happen to have about $10 on me, so of course I make a donation. I made my way upstairs where they have the video/radio library. Hundreds of titles to choose from for viewing/listening. The employee in there was a bit weird and made me uncomfortable the entire time but I got passed that. So I sit down at a computer where I could search for titles. I looked up Muppets and Sesame Street stuff. A lot of great things came up for viewing including the SS pilot and the Maria and Luis Wedding episode which I without skipping a beat selected to watch. I have never seen the pilot before and its been years since I saw the Wedding show. I was excited! They the selection goes through to the woman behind the counter's computer and it prints out the numbers. I go into the viewing room and sit down at my own personal cubical with a moniter and I type in the selection number. It worked! I was about to watch the very first episode of SS! Then it began to play. Here's the catch...the quality of the tape was TERRIBLE! The tracking was off and the sound was not working. It was all scrambled and unable to view. At first I thought maybe it was just a glitch in the machine because both episodes did that. I was so dissapointed. It wasn't the machine though because gladly I was able to enjoy the Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson. I liked that special. I was still upset with the fact I couldn't watch the first 2 things. DO they know they don't work? Anyway...I still recommend any of you to go. The people who work there are so nice and helpful. I hope to go back many times.

Unfortunately, the museum's collection gets viewed over and over again, so sometimes the quality goes down. Trying to stop the tape and put it on again helps, or asking an employee for assistance.
