I don't really think Kermit is hyper. A bit out of character, yes, but I wouldn't call it hyper. I can't imagine Kermit being hyper.


As for Kermit's newest impersonation... Was anyone else reminded of Pong?

It's because that's just how Steve seems to be, look at all of his other characters, it has to be tough for him to get into the mindset of being kermit.
All his characters from Bean Bunny to Wembly are pretty hyper.
He just seems to get overly excited lol it does work for his own characters though, but some one we've known as long as kermit it just doesn't seem to work.

Getting this thread back on topic, an avoiding polarizing views, let me just say what's really missing in TV these days. Wiz Kids. Eggheads, people with vision. And not just the creative team behind a creation, but the people who ran networks.

Sleaze rules TV, IMO, not due to the lack of religion, but the ever growing and lowering lowest common denominator. I find it hillarious when supposed moral groups crap all over a cartoon series for being violent, or in other ways relatible, when we can have sleazy swill like "The Moment of Truth". Where are the moralistic watch dogs there? Complaining that Michaelangelo has a pair of Nunchucks?

As far as kids these days...well yeah I guess myself growing up
in the age of Muppet Show reruns/Muppet Babies/Fraggle Rock/80's Sesame/Fraggle Animated is a lot different than
today...where you have ADD substance-less cheap Hanna Barbara knock off cartoons on cartoon network/Nickelodeon, and then the competition of shows like South Park and Family Guy.
I kind of miss the innocent days, heh

And even then, the American TV Cartoon is dying. I love Family Guy, South Park, and American Dad, but those are the only things you'll see anymore. Hanna Montana has successfully killed the American cartoon, with it's obvious humor, and loud, generic music. I suggest for further detail check out the "Another TV Land Outrage" thread. But the long story short is, network heads are interchangable, unwilling to ride slumps, and basically spoiled rich kids that got everything handed to them on a silver platter as kids, and expect the same results now. There's no room for growth. Yoy either copy the same formula, or perish (though I guess I have to give credit to NBC's programs like Heroes and the Office. They are the original shows everyone is imitating, and not the imitations).

Bringing this back to the main topic, someone like Jim Henson would NEVER get work in this day and age. That's why we need this website. It's the best way to ease the Muppets back into TV, or a film (more likely a telefilm or DTV than a theatrical release). I actually take back the mean things I said about Disney's ownership. They're trying.

Warners has just liquidated their television animation devision. The CW drops it's high rated shows for less than successful ones in an attempt to find it's demographic. All these companies are poorly run, and if they had the Muppets, you can bet we'd never see them again. No Websites, no DVD releases, not even the T-shirts. they'd sit on the rights, yet refuse to sell them.

This site is bringing out a fun side of the muppets that was missing for quite some time. These little vignette type shorts work perfectly, and I wouldn't be surprised if the next project incorporated something like that to some extent.

The best part of the interviews video at the Grammys is when they talk about how they dont have tickets. I always find it funny that the muppets are big stars yet they cant get tickets into an award show where they won an award.

Yes anytime they talk about not getting invitited to where ever theres any type of an awards or anything to do with celebrities and the poor Muppets having been invitited or just anything it's funny to hear them talk about it. Now on the other hand Miss Piggy would proubley have tickets and not tell the others.
