Actually Cory - i wouldn't be too sure about that. I'm not saying that because i think anyone is going to be cheated - in fact i think March time will be just after they finish filming. However you have to realise that JHC is a BUSINESS - they make money from this convention just like Palisades makes money from the sale of the figures, they aren't doing it solely out of the kindness of their hearts. JHC is pretty short of cash right now, EMTV's the same - and JHC don't even make all their own decisions like before, nowdays they have to do what they're told to an extent. Therefore if there was the scenario where they had a date booked for the convention, and filming overan and one or two of the puppeteers had to stay behind to finish up on the show it wouldn't suprise me if a few quality alternatives took their place at the fest - i'm not saying anyone is going to be dissapointed or Henson is going to use anyone other than the best people - but if it was a case of choosing between Muppetfest and their new flagship TV Show i really don't think they'd have much to consider !

As for what Tom said, i totally agree. Specific people should stop getting worked up and hyperventilating - an official announcement hasn't even been made yet. Any idea of quitting jobs or misleading employers is crazy - these are television characters - significant ones to all of us, but we wouldn't pull a gun on someone for them (i hope). Over 3,000 people died last year in the World Trade Center terrorist attacks - would you have swapped places with them for the chance to go to Muppetfest ? I doubt it severely.

Lets just leave it at a nice friendly level of enthusiasm which should make a lovely weekend for all those who can go, and start thinking about all the cool things that could be possible. Personally i think thats a lot more positive.

Dude, where the heck did this come from? I dont even see how you could mention the words gun, and reference 911 in this post. What is the relevence other than to shake things up?

Cory,

Have you tried reading what you type sometimes ? I really recommend it. For the past day you have been going on about being at Muppetfest AT ALL COSTS - i was just giving you a few scenarios to show you how insignificant it really is !

Be a dedicated fan, fine, but taking it to extremes is very, very silly in the great scheme of things. We know you want to be there, we ALL want to be there - lets just leave it at that !

A Kermit meaning there are a number of Kermits. There's the poseable doll Kermit used for still photography that was in the museum last year. There are puppet Kermits. Think about it-- Kermit was in the museum next to Piggy, he was in the MTI display, and he was on stage all at the same time. There are multiple Kermits. That's why you sometimes hear people talk about making a 'batch' of Gonzos.

I was thinking it might be possible to use an older Kermit or something like that. But Muppets are so expensive and time consuming to create-- I just don't know if photo ops are realistic-- much as I would like them.

From now on, I go for the pleasure..

I totally see what you're saying Smiggy. I really really do. I guess i mean that there are different situations for everyone. We have to do what's right for us. Sometimes a job brings pleasure. Some jobs don't. Ya know? It's a different situation for everyone so I can't make a definite answer. We'll just have to wait and see!

You are a wise man!

ack, that would be like geeting to meet and have a photo op with an animatronic william shatner at a trekkie convention:wink: I think photo ops can be arranged, and if not for the general con goers...well im sure *some* kind of special thing will be arranged.

Luke of course I read what I post, I even go back and re edit them(usually not for grammarical errors though) What I was saying is that I hope everyone who wants to go can find a way out of work or school(Call in sick? tell them in advance to get that weekend off?) What is so wrong wiht that??? You seemed to take it to some extreme, making it into something else.

If I worked at some menial job, and they wouldnt give me the proposed weekend off, you bet I would quit. However I also understand some people's jobs arent like that.(ie: entertainment business, etc) Bascially dude, my whole point was to say if theres a will theres a way, and I would hate for someone to feel they missed out because they couldnt get work off. If going means a lot to someone, than its up to them what they wanna do. THAT WAS ALL I was saying...how you ended up making those references I have no idea. In the grand scheme of thing my man,
I do think MF can change ones life, it sure cvhanged mine for the better...and ended a horrible year on a positive note.

Hey Cory,

When you put it that way i agree with you - i dunno - sometimes you sound so excited i think you get easily misinterpreted. LOL - it's all cool though, wouldn't have you any other way !

I'm just glad you have that kinda enthusiasm - it's beyond cool !
