you're snorkeling the poor man!?!?!?!
Hey, I gotta dig information outta folks SOMEhow!

Here's my latest email:

=============
I don't have that much dirt on the show. I know Ashanti works as a
waitress at the beginning. The flying monkeys aren't monkeys at all
(with the exception of Sal), they're like a motorcycle gang with leather
jackets & flying motorcycles.

Rickey said they have worked hard NOT to copy the classic Oz movie.
They don't want to get sued by MGM.
=============

I think that's going to be hilarious!

Hey, all!

I don't wanna divulge the name of my friend, not his request but I'd rather keep him anonymous. At any rate, he DID get to perform a background Muppet (from Muppets Tonight, I think) in Muppets From Space.

I'm still trying to snorkel some information out of him about the Oz film, so as I get it I'll pass it along.
I think I've heard of this guy. Didn't he come here once? He's the one who performed the guy with the funny glasses and eyes that blink in MFS isn't he?

Great film but what about the UK???

Wow! The film sounds great. I loved return to oz and the classic judy garland movie so this is going to be amazing :excited:. I love the muppets and i can't wait for this film to come out and a motorcycle gang how :cool:!

Does anyone know if the UK will get to see this? There was talk over here (or so i heard) that it was going to be released on DVD and Video like muppets very merry christmas. Does anyone know info on that? :zany: I really hope it does.

I'm sure Disney will air it internationally on their other channels around the world. :smile:

This my friends is not actually a new idea, but another link to the WIZ. Many of you may have seen the Wiz, it had an all black (African American) cast the film was very edggy for it's time and a very modern strange twist on the land of OZ. The film uses a Motorcycle Gang as the Flying Monkeys. (I think the musical play is very different from the film).

There is alos a really great book addaptation of Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of OZ, it is older now I think. I do not remember the artist involved in that project, but he uses all black and white illustrations for the book and gives the Monkeys flying machines, that look like a combination of old prop plains/ motorcycles. Very effective, but to me it kind of takes away from the mystical magic of OZ, making the Monkeys ordinary, but there flying machines are extraordinary.

So I guess I hope that is not true but just a rumor.
