This was in an email from a friend of mine:

Just thought you'd like to know that I had a nice phone conversation
with our ol' pal, Rickey Boyd. Rickey was up in Canada working on the
'Muppets Wizard of Oz' tv special.

I enjoyed chatting with him, he had a very good time working on it.
Besides performing background muppets he did the VOICES for & performed
Crazy Harry & Scooter.
All right!

He was particularly excited about doing Scooter, he said that Dave Goelz
(Gonzo) & Steve Whitmire (Kermit) both complimented him on doing a
good job. He said after they filmed one scene Steve said, '**** that
really sounds like Scooter!'

I was dying to get him to do the Scooter voice over the phone, but I
didn't ask. Knowing Rickey, it probably sounds dead-on perfect! It
does my heart good to hear about one of our little crew doing so well.
I hope Rick gets to do Scooter full-time now, he was always a fun
character.

I believe the special will air in May, be sure to watch for it!

That's great news Fozzie! I am glad someone has finally picked Scooter back up. It'll be good to see Scooter return back from a semi-retirement. Best of luck to his new performer!

Muppet Voices

I am so glad, being some one who does a number of voices myself I can relate to the challenge of sounding just like some one, or in the muppets case some thing. I perfected Kermits voice, which was a challange un like any other voice I can perform. In fact it is more of a combination between Jim's and Steve's kermit. Not that i would ever have oppertunity to work with the Muppets, but if the voices sound right again, the the characters will feel more right again. AND THAT IS ALL GOOD!

Hey, all!

I don't wanna divulge the name of my friend, not his request but I'd rather keep him anonymous. At any rate, he DID get to perform a background Muppet (from Muppets Tonight, I think) in Muppets From Space.

I'm still trying to snorkel some information out of him about the Oz film, so as I get it I'll pass it along.
