Okay, this is one of my least fave films. Some people feel really passionate about it and it's a well-crafted film, but I don't like the Muppets being pushed in the background by anyone (including the brilliant Sir Michael Caine). Some cite the Great Muppet Caper having that issue, but the humans were more integrated in the film rather than being the stars.
That being said, I loved the sets! Just beautiful look to this film. Brian Henson has a way of giving these pictures a near epic sweep to the shots that makes us feel we are in a real world. Fantastic.
My favorite characters would include:
Ghost of Christmas Past - Not a very traditional Muppet Show-like character but an incredibly dynamic and interesting puppet
Gonzo - Showed his strength and appeal when by practically carrying the Muppet end of the film. His chemistry with Rizzo was magic.
The Mice - Such a tiny part of the film, but stole all the scenes they were in.
My favorite scenes would have to include:
The Ghost of Christmas Past, of course. Fozziewig's party (the most Muppet-like scene in the picture) and the opening sequence. Beautiful camera work and puppet choreography.
