He's never been portrayed as human. He's always been a little mule since I first drew him in 1980 (I think there's a history about him here somewhere).
Anyhow, we discuss Muley in third person here in Memphis because he has earned that capacity locally, and it carries over to other conversations we have, even with people who (somehow) don't know who he is.
