The M obviously stands for Moneygrubbing, Monotonous, Mindless...good grief, I'm beginning to sound like Oscar the Grouch teaching the letter of the day... :grouchy:

P.S. Believe it or not, I used to call the channel "eMpTy-V" when I was in high school!

Wow, so you've heard of it? I suppose it's fairly popular, but I wouldn't know. Good to hear you know of it though- it's one of my favourite shows. <3 There's nothing better then turning on the telly at 11:50 at night and watching Rage until 3:00 in the morning or so *lol*. They play some really good 80s, grunge and old-school rock... and the best indie/alt. videos around!

And yes, I'm an Australian.
Yeah, i've actually heard of it. It first came to my attention when the only copy of the ultra-rare video for Eurythmics' "Never Gonna Cry Again" circulating among the tape traders/fans was from Rage (it wasn't shown in USA because the first album which it's from wasn't released here and it wasn't shown in the UK due to some snafu with guest Hulgar Czuskay's appearance and the Musicians Union). There were also some Tourists videos that only seem to have aired there. Over the years i've heard of other videos from other bands that have only been seen on Rage. Maybe with MTV's loss, they could go international!

Hey, now *that's* a good idea! You come across some pretty bizarre stuff on it, and a little bit of everything, from Eurythmics to Bats For Lashes and beyond! Still pretty cool that you know about it.

Mtv

I'd prefer that Mtv would just set up a date for their last day on the air, and on that day play EXACTLY what they played on their first day in 1981. Including the test patterns during the night, if that's the case. But I realize the commercials won't be from 81, sadly  But I may as well ask for them anyway, since this is NOT going to happen anyway

MTV will still be MTV, they'll just show less and less music. In other words, they're keeping the name, but kicking the spirit to the curb.
