I just found out that Mike Quinn will be at an upcoming sci-fi/comic book convention in Boston that some friends and I had an interest in going to. As if having Michael Dorn (who plays my favorite Trek character of all time), Dominic Keating (I'm a huge fan of Enterprise), Nichelle Nichols, Nicholas Brendon (my second favorite character on Buffy) and Billy Dee Williams wasn't enough, I'm ecstatic that I'll have a Muppet connection here as well.

Other than MuppetFest, I've never been to one of these things. Is anyone from the area planning on going?

I hope the schedule is released soon so I can be sure to catch him in case he's not there one of the three days. I wonder what the chances are that Karen will be with him?

If he's signing autographs, I was thinking of having him sign something from The Great Muppet Caper as that was his first Henson job. I thought he might appreciate that versus all of the Nien Nunb photos people are going to have for him.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for mentioning about Mike's Boston appearance. I was going to send in a little notice but you beat me to it.

Unfortunately, I won't be there with him. I'll be in the middle of some animation work. But he'll be happy to see you and any other Muppet fans who drop by. He says he'll be at that show on the Saturday and Sunday but he's not sure about the Friday yet.

He's also got some European appearances coming up later this year and will have more info at his website under the 'Where's Mike?" link:

cheers,

Karen

Thanks for the tip Karen, I'll be heading over to his table first... more likely on Sunday.

Anyone else here going from the Boston area?

Hey Scott...

......I'll be waiting....

No doubt with my Sunday morning coffee in hand! Earlier this year at a show in florida I even managed to spill a large cup all over my Sy Snootles pictures. It was quite spectacular!!!

Anyway I'll look forward to seeing ya in a few weeks.

Have fun!

Mike

Hey, I just looked at my calendar and realized our company is doing a puppet/prop rental pick up in MA that weekend. I usually send our rentals guy to do that sort of thing but maybe I'll do some work for a change and handle this one myself so I can take a side trip to Boston. Heh heh....
