Maybe you don't. Maybe everyone else does instead.

Hah! Are you taunting me, Scribbler?

Heck yeah, if it's anyplace I can reach (finances permitting) I'd go. Sounds like fun! I envy you guys back east...I miss it there.

If there's ever an event in Oregon (the forgotten state) then I'll be there. But that's pretty much all I can pull at the moment... maybe Washington or California.

I know this wouldn't be as good as if we all go together but has anyone considered something regional or even statewide?

I would definitely be in! Can't really do much beyond New York or New Jersey, maybe Pensylvania or Delaware, not that I expect anyone lives there. I'll be rather busy in the next couple of weeks, not that I imagine we'll be planning anything that soon anyway. But count me in!

Well I kind of think a good place to have on would be Leland Mississippi The home town where Jim was born, or we could kind of split it up, and have little ones like one for the south one for people who live up North and one for people to live out west. Then once we get to start getting together more regualy we could plan a bigger event for say MC's 20th Birthday or something.

I've been thinking over the last few days that it's been quite a long time since we've gotten to see each other in person. Granted, we really only get to see each other at assorted Henson Legacy events but there hasn't been anything big along those lines since the William Patterson U. event two years ago. This got me thinking, I've been kicking around the idea of perhaps trying to put together a Muppet Central reunion of-sorts. I know Tough Pigs does picnics every now and then, and I was thinking we could do something like that. And it wouldn't be open to just MC members, any Muppet fans who troll the internet from any websites is welcome! Let me know if anyone would be up for doing this, I'd probably organize to be in a park in my town (Irvington, NY). So with that in mind, let me know if anybody would be interested wanting to see this happen.
Just a polite suggestion, but we're probably better off waiting until the end of summer, or even September, because by then, the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, NY will be holding special events in conjunction with the Jim Henson touring exhibit, and the articles online state they'll be doing some things as the date for Jim's 75th birthday gets closer. Would make more sense since I'm sure people will be traveling in for that...

I'd love to attend a get-together sort of thing, unfortunately I lack the funds to travel anywhere outside of northern California... :sympathy:

Attempts to get any sort of fan get togethers over the years have been pretty moot. When it was announced most of the Sunday of the D23 Disney Anaheim expo was to be devoted to all thing Muppets, hardly anyone seemed interested in an official/unofficial fan thing. In 2007 myself and a bunch of others tried to look into renting out a theater and having a Muppet/JHC related event with current/former employees and such. Wasn't much interest. D23 is happening again this year, and it's clear Disney will have a big part devoted to the Muppets...so for anyone on the West coast or who is attending D23 across from Disneyland in Anaheim CA, that seems like a perfect meetup. And given the film is out in November, thatd be a good time for regional meetups too. An East Coast NY meetup would rock too.

Yeah I hear ya, I mostly stick to a Sacramento to San Francisco radius.
