OC: Wow, I have REALLY gotten behind ...
Jareth still found himself staring out of the window, lit in the pale moonlight, as his queen, Mizumi, draped herself around him. “You’ve been lost for so long,” she whispered, twirling his hair in her fingers.
“I’ve been thinking,” he told her quietly.
Mizumi ran her fingers across his jawline. “This curse has us all so upset, my liege, my shining star. I have yet to convince Regina to end her silly plot.” She chuckled and slapped Jareth’s back, stepping away. “Can you believe she wants to send the realms to a place without magic?” She laughed some more. “How can curses work in a world with no magic? As soon as everyone arrived, the curse would be nullified by simple virtue of the lack of magic!”
“Do you insist on words rushing from your mouth like a raging waterfall?” he replied coldly.
Mizumi frowned. “You spurn me, dear Jareth,” she hissed. “Do not do so lightly.”
Jareth sighed and bowed his head. “I must go.”
Mizumi’s heart skipped a beat and her face paled. “How can you leave me? Have I not--?”
“So the answer is ‘yes’,” he said, shaking his head and turning towards her. “Be still, dear Mizumi, for a single moment, and let me calm your fears.” He took out his hand and the sacred water of Moraine rose from his hand and formed a crystal ball as it hardened, with Mizumi looking on in wonder. “The Dark One, Regina … none of those people matter. Only children matter.”
Mizumi smirked and slinked over to him and kissed him. “You should’ve said something,” she panted in his lips. She started to take off Jareth’s robes. “We can have children anytime, anywhere ….”
Jareth smiled and gently pushed her away. “Not ours, my love. A human child, a boy, a ‘True Believer’, one who can create worlds, one who can sustain magic, one who bring life to lifelessness.”
Mizumi looked away, sullen. “You sound like Eshe.”
Jareth caressed her silver-white hair. “The Shadow of Neverland is looking for a boy.”
Mizumi sighed, rolling her eyes. “The boy who lost his manhood?” she asked coyly. “He’s a petulant, arrogant fool.”
Jareth nodded. “But a dangerous one. He’s been using up a lot of energy to spare Neverland from this curse. I can sense it. We will need to protect the Underground as well.” He paused, letting the crystal ball in his hand warp and twist until it appeared to spread out in countless directions throughout the room. “Have you no knowledge of the Underground, Mizumi? The tunnels beneath the world, the vessels of the Heart of the Worlds, they cannot risk his darkness spreading to them.” The images disappeared as the crystal ball reformed in his hand and then vanished.
Mizumi shook her head and began to pace. “I resent you feel you must do this alone. I resent you could not trust me with this knowledge. I resent --.”
Jareth took her by the hand and caressed it. “You are the Cup of Moraine, my love. Permit me the honor of protecting it.”
Mizumi’s eyes glistened in the moonlight. “Go, my love – and do not fail me.”
