Cool, I was not aware of this. I have seen some stuff that was shot in 1.33:1 and they actually crop the top and bottom to make it look widescreen.
I am sure someday we will see this widescreen. Do you know what the aspect ratio of this was originally?

I believe the special was shot in 1.78.1. It's really apparent when they zoom out of Whoopi's widescreen monitor. I'm not saying we've missed that much, but the crowd scenes would be more enjoyable. I believe most every project these days is shot for the transition to widescreen later (without cutting into the picture from the top and bottom). I know so much stuff from the 90s and earlier will be cropped this way when the transition to widescreen occurs. I still don't know the proportions of the special as an absolute fact, but seeing that most hi-def digi cam productions are widescreen and NBC dropped 10 M on the project, it stands to reason that it's very likely.

I was told today that the movie will be out on DVD next fall. Expect to see some behind-the-scenes extras. That's all I know right now.

Thanks for that news Phil, well, i guess we gotta wait a year then. I was thiniking about buying the video but i do have the movie taped. i guess it would be kind of a waste too seeing that i would buy the DVD also.

i hope that there is a comentary on the DVD! maybe with Brian Henson and it would be nice if they did Kermit and Piggy and maybe even Pepe too. I've have alittle too much of Gozno and Rizzo. Hey it would be a real treat if they had Fozzie Bear(with kermit and pepe)

this would be a great picture to do behind the senes on because there woud be soooo much to talk about! the classic characters making a come back, how the sets were bulit, interview with guess starts and muppets old and new, boolpers! and "hopefuly" some exral footage.

Zack)Rowlf the) All that would be worth the wait...but how about that endding? fozzie got cut off, it sounds like he's about to say "even...me," but is there any more to that?Dog.

On the other hand it may be important to support to video release, but who knows. I still haven't decided yet. And let's remember that things tend to get cut with each release.

I hope the whole thing over Snoop will have dissipated by the time they release the DVD next fall. It would have been nice to hear Floyd, Zoot and Teeth. :frown: Who knew they would be cut? We all thought it was going to be Janice! It would be cool to see all the cuts.

Zack,

You can hear the full version of the song "Everyone Matters" that NBC cut off during the credits on Muppet Central Radio.

http://www.muppetcentral.com/radio/index.shtml

Fozzie does say "Even you". Then Piggy "Even me". Kermit then concludes "You and me" with about a 15 second musical interlude to finish the song.

yeah, and it's always great Chirstmas one's too, i don't know though, i'm thinking about it, but i don't think they would cut the DVD, only add extra stuff to it (not meaning snoop thought) plus i do have the movie taped anyways, it would be the same deal with AMFC.

and thanks's for the info on the rest of the song Phil! boy they really do cut the endding, hopefuly we can see it on Hallmark this month.
