In keeping with my newly-minted tradition of ressurecting a long dead thread for just in time for Halloween I bring this one BACK TO LIFE! It's alive! ALIVE!
*Ahem* Okay, enough melodramatics. I loved
Lamb Chop's Play Along back when it was still on (I remember my favorite bits being the ones with the talking bus). But now, the only thing I have in my possession to remember it is a videotaped copy of
Lamb Chop in the Haunted Studio (which I need to remember to transfer to DVD sometime here soon).
Then, when
Charlie Horse Music Pizza debuted, I loved it even more (mostly due to the presence of Dom DeLuise
). It shocked me to discover that nobody seems to care enough about it to even put a clip up on YouTube, despite the hundreds of
Play Along clips that have been put up.
When I found out that Shari Lewis had died (from an A&E Biography, no less), I almost refused to believe it (I know that sounds a little cliched, but I was only eight at the time. Cut me some slack).
I can't really say that she inspired me to get into puppetry, because Jim did that. However, she was the first example I saw of somebody outside the Muppet circles doing puppet work, which showed me that getting into The Muppets wasn't the only option for people wanting to be puppeteers.
And that's my anticlimactic, pointless, little story about Sheri Lewis & Lamb Chop.
And, yes, the song will never end.
