But "8 Simple" has Henry Winkler on (right?), and he's from the same period of TV as when John Ritter began. Can he be as physically funny? Who knows, but we'll soon see.

henry winkler was going to do a guest role in the episode that was being filmed during the week that ritter died. actually they were filming the episode. winkler could always come back and do another guest role if he wants to.

just wanted to update this, 8 simple rules is coming back on this tuesday with a 1 hour show that deals with the death of john ritter's character. james garner and suzanne pleshette guest star as cate's (katy segal) parents who are seperated to come and help cate and the family deal with the loss.

comes on at 7 central time this tuesday on abc.
