so far the 2 new episodes i've seen of 8 simple rules are really funny, even if john is gone.

i also on the e channel the true story of three's commpany. although the show is funny, but behind the scenes, that show had some serious problems. but a lot of shows have problems.

by the way, i've been gone for about 3 weeks now. hope i didn't miss anything....

yes I agree! even though both shows dealed with sensitive topics, they were well done, and weren't crude at all!

I loved when he was trying to talk to Carrie about seeing that scene in the movie, and he was so embarrassed that he was completely unintelligible. :stick_out_tongue:

Me too. He's excellent in anything he does. Especially Space Cowboys, Maverick and the Maverick TV series.

But I still think the new 8 Simple Rules will fail. John Ritter made that show; he was the one that made it worth watching; and now he's gone. It's clear that ABC wanted a heavyweight; a ratings grabber (Dick Van Dyke was also in talks to play the role); and James Garner is just that. But, a John Ritter type show without John Ritter ... I just hope that 8 Simple Rules doesn't end up like the final -- and dreadful -- season of Spin City.

only time will tell. it depends if people will watch the show to see if it is funny, and where it is going.....its going to be a tough ride ahead for those guys...

But "8 Simple" has Henry Winkler on (right?), and he's from the same period of TV as when John Ritter began. Can he be as physically funny? Who knows, but we'll soon see.
