But remember, the costumed characters are mainly geared towards children and the costumes are made to make the characters they resemble larger than life, for certainly Mickey is NOT really 6 feet or so!
That is very true, but think about all of the kids who are terrorfied when they see that Mickey is so tall. Not all kids are like that, but it is something that can be really weird for a kid to see.

Point taken, but I wouldn't think children would terrified of characters they trust (despite the fact it is a person in a suit).

See when I was a kid, I was terrified of those Chuck E Cheeze or walk around characters, and would have been RELEIVED to see that there were really people under those costumes, lol.

True, but let's think for a second. The characters are generally meant for little kids--i.e. toddlers--who still believe that their icons exist beyond the animation or beyond the puppetry or for fellow cast members to hang with when working, NOT for overgrown fans who are reliving their childhood. ^_^

Kermit was a puppet. Mickey was a cartoon.
Cartoons are great; don't get me wrong. But Puppets stand out to me more because you can actually meet a puppet. I can chake hands with a guy in a Mickey suit sure, but I can actually shake Kermit's hand if I were to meet him. See what I mean?

Oh man, so was I, especially Mr. Munch and Pasqually. I remember one time I was just hanging out at the front of the stage and the audio-animatronic show started up and that purple demon sputtered to life... I tore out of the room knocking over a waitress and never looked back.

:concern: I am dreadfully sorry, but I found that amusing, for some reason. :halo:

I Remember Billy Bob form Show Biz Pizza came to me school in kindergarten, and I though he was silly, heh!

Lol, yes that's exactly what I mean! Kids don't always think about these things logically like, "Oh it's only Mickey" or some other character. If a scary looking version of Mickey or whatever suddenly starts moving around in a creepy fashion (as so many of those things did), you're going to be afraid, lol.

Lucky. I only got to see him in the Pizza Place itself. Years later, said place has since went from being Show Biz, to Chuck E. Cheese, and finally, to a COX cable company.
