Hey all!
I think you all know Muley the Mule by now, and if not: He's my cartoon/puppet/mascot character, and now the Official SpokesMule of the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis.
Anyways, there's a TON of events that he will be performing/attending at the RMH Radiothon events this month and next as local radio station ROCK103 hosts events to raise money for the House. One such event is finding Muley, again, playing Maitre'D at Bosco's Celebrity Waiter's Night, which is fun (he gets to boss around local celebrities, some of which were Josie Scott from Saliva last year!)
Anyways, to read up on what he's doing, you can always visit the Mid-South Cartoonists Association website. I'm VP over the MSCA, which is now a chapter of the Southeastern Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society! YAY!!
Speaking of the MSCA, we've just published a group anthology which is pretty cool, and Muley has some pages in it. The cover of the book appears on the association's website. The books retail at $3.00 each, and I'm taking orders for the books. S&H is $2.00 (or, you can send an 8x10 envelope that's already postage paid and addressed)(S&H is more for overseas orders). Muley and I are signing the books, and I'm including a small original drawing in each order (stamped with my official seal). I'm taking e-mailed reservations (put "COMIC BOOK ORDER" in the subject line) for the books and accepting American money orders or checks. Still trying to set up my Pay Pal Account to accept $$ and will update that later.
My friend who developed the idea for the anthology has his own book being published by Shooting Star Comics, and that information is also posted on the MSCA site, so check it out and be sure to ask your local comic book store to order "Jetta: Tales of the Toshigawa" from Shooting Star Comics, or Diamond Previews catalogue!
Finally, in his capacity as RMH Official SpokesMule, Muley will also be talking to the public soon about the importance of the role and usefulness of the Ronald McDonald House and the families who stay there for free while kids are being treated at St. Jude. Tonight, though, he'll be going on the ice with the Memphis Riverkings Hockey Team mascots, and the NHL Nashville Predators mascot, Nash, and several other things, so that'll be fun as long as I--er, HE--doesn't slip on the ice and fall. And I'm--he's--not wearing skates. I can't walk on dry ground, much less ice!
