I'd just as soon remain where I'm at and work independently, lol; I think I'd hate working in Hollywood, or the Los Angeles area.

As far as movies based on toys is concerned, suppose some movie company does a modern-day remake of Raggedy Ann and Andy? There's not much nostalgic stuff left that hasn't been modernized all to heck yet.

Did the original Raggedy Ann and Andy movie (the animated film) ever go to DVD? I'd love to see that again. I remember being tiny and FREAKED OUT at the big fudge monster who is eating all the candy.

I also know they're gonna make Lego movie which is a mixture of animation, stop-motion, and live action. I'm looking forward to that

Here's the thing. A Lego movie WOULD work. With all the licenses and different original Lego set creations, I'm surprised they haven't really ventured outside of video games and that one DTV movie yet. There were rumblings that they were going to make either Lego Batman or Lego Star Wars into a TV show at one point. Legos, G.I. Joes... stuff that has a story behind it anyway works as a movie. Outside of Clue, board games don't. Magic 8 balls don't. If you're product is just something that does one amazing thing and has no story or mythos behind it, it can't be a movie. It shouldn't.

I agree, with a film like Fraggle Rock stuck in purgatory, it's a shame these other companies don't realize the value and viewership Fraggle Rock would get and send money in that direction.

i don't understand how people are going for nostalgia bucks are ignoring something as big as Fraggle Rock. Especially when they leaped on Marmaduke. And as I said, no one under the age of 30 knows or even cares who Marmaduke is. And even his Ruby Spears 1980 cartoon series wasn't all that interesting. it's very annoying that Weinstine is still looking for another partner to partner a partnership with. I really think that Henson should move the party to Lionsgate.

The entertainment industry for the last 10-15 years has been getting worse with bad music, tv shows, and movies. It has watered down the material and the masses are eating it up (though people complain about lack of good material).

It's easy for the regular networks to do something reality tv wise because it's cheap and easy to produce compared to doing a tv show series. That's why American Idol and Dancing With The Stars are so popular (although I think both shows blow).

Speaking of remakes, the new A Nightmare On Elm Street came out yesterday, and surprise surprise, the movie has been getting bad reviews.

They're also making a movie off that SNL sketch McGruber. Terrible McGyveresque guy gets distracted and 90 seconds later it cuts to an explosion. Woooo.

Speaking of remakes, the new A Nightmare On Elm Street came out yesterday, and surprise surprise, the movie has been getting bad reviews.

I'm not surprised. And not even the fact it's a remake. That could go either way. I'm not surprised because it was directed by Michael Bay! How does Freddy kill everyone in this movie? large explosions in 3-D?

Heh... every so often they get overconfident that a Saturday night Live sketch has what it takes to become a movie. And it just hasn't since Wayne's World. It's Pat... Superstar... even Coneheads (which I sort of liked) did terribly... even Waynes World 2 wasn't so hot. And this character is essentially a parody of a TV show, and the gag basically works best as 1 minute skits.

Movie wasn't directed by Bay, but he did produce it. Saw the film last week for some odd reason, and yes, it was bland. The original one is still the best.

Even though he wasn't the director, Michael Bay should be banned from making anything bigger than a sandwich for himself ever again. I mean, South Park NAILED his personality in Imaginationland.

I have to disagree. The SNL flicks maybe didnt sell well in the box office, but they're DEF movies that will stick with you forever. THis new one? Eh. But those listed above, and don't forver Night at the Roxbury. DEF great movies that one enjoys going back to see time n time again. If you don't care for the stories, you'll prob agree that they're great for one liners.
