There is no name yet for the channel that I have heard. It will be interesting to see how this plays out with the Sesame programming on Noggin.

I have heard a launch date as soon as September 2005. I'm sure we will be hearing more as time goes on.

you know i don't see the point in starting up these new channels. unless they air older stuff or air new series witch i'm sure they'll to that as well. why start a network that airs shows that already air on another outlet.

I wonder... say they do have classic episodes.... if they do better in ratings than current ones, would they reconsider the format? I mean, I like Global Grover, Trash Gordon and the Letter/Number of the day skits.... but what if they were inserted differently.... and since they have another channel, would they consider dropping Elmo's World's 15 minutes per episode on SS, and just putting 2 eps together for an Elmo's world show..... just considering the possibilities.

We've been talking about the rumors for months, but it is now official that there will be a new channel owned by Sesame Workshop, Comcast, HIT and PBS. They will have access to Sesame's entire library. We will have to wait and see what classic episodes actually get aired on the channel though.

They will also be initially offering around 50 hours of video-on-demand programming in early 2005 with the channel launch expected to happen in fall 2005. No cable or satellite providers have been announced. So if you are not on Comcast, we will have to wait and see what other providers will officially carry the channel.

i know it took DTV a year to get Noogin though i'm glad they got it when they did. though it will be a whole year, i wonder how long it will take them to get it if at all? i know i'm slightly going off topic here but there's this channel called Good Life TV witch i mentioned in the general discussions forum. it' a channel aimed at baby boomers and whilw has current infirmational shows, it also has old network show. couple examples I Spy, Bill Cosby's 1st TV series and The Man From Uncle 2 popular James Bond inspired TV shows from the 60. DTV doesn't yet have it and o asked them why and they never said nor did they say if they ever will. and who knows with in a short period of time GLTV mind become a Noggin casualty by losing the older programming. don't mean to sound un-optamistic but you see how other channel have changed for the worst. The Diseny Channel no longer has thir classic shows and another thing to think about GLTV probably isn't seen as in many markets and other channels and as i mentioned in the post about Noggin axing SSU, i had heard it wasn't seen on as many markets witch sounded like it along with the other CTW shows weren't given the chance. but who knows maybe things will be different for this upcomming one.

Comments about that schedule.
1 All of the Sesame Street airings are good in my book, though you might want to add Plaza Sesamo if you've got Sesame Park, one version for the three major languages.
2 Why have Mr. Rogers on so late at night in primetime?
3 Would advise you to revise the lineup and add more of the Henson side of HIT's library. After all, we're hoping that we can get both Fraggle Rock and The Hoobes.
4 You might want to also add more of CTW/SW's past projects for us old timers. I'd be interested in Math Patrol, but would want Square One Television on that lineup as well.
Not to mention The Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact, and The Ghost of Faffner Hall.
Well, hope this helps and have a good day.

That was someone's made up list. Henson does not own Muppet Babies, Disney does. So, since Disney is not a part of this, I would not expect muppet babies at all. Fraggle Rock on the other hand would be great. Old Sesame Street would be cool as well. I always wanted to see some of the 70's episodes and really early stuff.

Any idea what the OnDemand category will be called? My husband works for Comcast and was told by his sales coach that in Feb. he can expect to see 3 new kids categories on the VOD menu....but wasn't able to give him an exact name for them.
