How well does the new movie have to do?

What would it take for the new movie to be considered a success? Will it take a big profit? Will simply breaking even be enough? There has been a lot of time and money put into advertising the movie and if doesn't do as well as hoped, do the muppets get shelved again? Just curious on everyone's thoughts.

To break even, it'll have to make more than $50 million. They certainly have my $10.

only 50 Million? It will make that very early on would be my guess. I think Disney would like to see more than 100 million over all though (also doable I think)

Yeah I think Disney would be very pleased with 100 million. That would definitely peak their interest for more projects after this. So why not?

I have a feeling that the film will do well enough that the Muppets don't get shelved.

If nothing else, it certainly has critical acclaim.
