Hehe, just kidding.

But really, today was one of the strangest days at school. Usually in my art class, we watch a movie while doing our assigments. And you'll never guess what today's movie was....Muppets from Space!:concern:

Anyways, during the movie my teacher began discussing who Jim Henson was. As I tried so hard to act like I had no intrest in the Muppets(like others did), my teacher had made one error with her discussion. She said that Mr. Henson had passed away in late 2000...

Yep. She said it. She thought he had died in 2000. Well, I just had to correct her on that. I found myself blurting out "he died in 1990!" Before I knew it, the whole class was in silence, everyone had there eyes on me.

But what could I do? I was right after all. Luckily, no one mentioned the whole thing to me afterwards. Although, during the movie, all of us kids (jokingly)called out the different muppet characthers in which we looked like. You'll never guess who was compared to:

 !

Honestly, I see no resemblence. hehe:insatiable:

Wow, that's a really odd mistake for the teacher to have made! Aw, you shouldn't be embarrassed. People may give you a hard time sometimes, but eventually they often also come to respect you for sticking to your guns.

Don't be embarassed over liking the Muppets and knowing about Jim Henson! Even if people think you're weird, at least it's the good kind of weird!

....... I'm horrible at saying these kind of things. :embarrassed:

Lol, it's so true, though! And there's nothing wrong at all with loving the things that we love!

I just want to say, great job correcting your teacher, SSLFan. I think we all would've done the same, hehe!

Yeah, I know I would be able to help but correct someone who said that. I remember one time at work my boss and this other guy I was working with were arguing over Snuffy's name, LOL! Anyway that guy was telling my boss that his real name was Aloysius, while my boss was saying that it was Snuffleupagus. I couldn't help but meditate the heated debate, heh, and let them know that his name was in fact Aloysius Snuffleupagus, heh! Glad to here that those kind of conversations and that kind of love going to a show like Sesame Street.

But yeah, you can be weird in a Great Gonzo kins of way.

Aww, you must be at least in grade 10 or younger. By the time I was about 16, EVERYONE knew my muppet obsession, as I painted Jim Henson on a ceiling tile. *coughs*

Whatever, man. Wear that nerdiness like a badge of honour. And let the teacher know that Jim wasn't involved in MFS, lol! Both two important things to remember. :stick_out_tongue:

If there's one thing I've learned in college, it's this: Never try to stifle the Muppet geek within, for it will come out no matter what you do.

A few weeks back, my English professor had us all go around the room and give our perspective of the Sixties. Everyone else had something along the lines of, "Well, my dad was in Vietnam and my mom was a hippy..."

So what did I have to say? "...Well... My parents don't really talk much about the Sixities, so... what I know is pretty much what I've gathered from research on various obsessions of mine... that being, um- James Bond, and- the Muppets..."

So I briefly summarized what was going on in the Sixties with James Bond and the Muppets. I TRIED to focus on the Bond stuff, but... the professor was just amazed at me, you see. "Really? The Muppets were around in the Sixties? Because The Muppet Show didn't start until like, the Seventies..."

Naturally, I rattled off, "Seventy-six, yeah. The Muppets actually first appeared on television in 1955 on a local station in Washington D. C. with a five minute show called Sam and Friends..."

The professor was quite impressed, and on a completely unrelated note, I got an A on the next paper I turned in for that class. Hmm... :wisdom: :stick_out_tongue:
