other than that, i talked to the singer from blood or whiskey...even though they arent really celebrities. and i think he was drunk. and it was hard to understand his irish accent. but he was cool.

I forgot to mention that I've met the greatest actress of all-time! I can't believe I let her slip my mind! She's the most talented, expressive actress ever. Her use of hand gestures and body language makes you believe that you are experiencing her experiences. Her voice carries like that of a thousand elephants, so everyone can hear her no matter what stage she's on. She's never won a major acting award that I know of, but she would be an Academy Award winner if I had my way. She is the storyteller among storytellers, and the way she crafts them is just brilliant. However, if you were to bring this up to her she would deny it--she's so humble. This actress is my mother-in-law. The woman who can make any dull story exciting, any mundane task an adventure. Just watch what you say around her, because she will use your words against you and be so crafty about it, you won't even know what hit you. She has turned friends against friends with her nifty little tales, and has many times made me the villain of her fables. When I meet any of her friends, I already understand if they are giving me the evil eye. I am a bad guy, she's the good guy, and my wife must be the damsel in distress. If you ever want to see the greatest stage acting ever, come by sometime and I will introduce you to the Meryl Streep of Midwest suburbia. My fear is that for the Xth year in a row, she will be passed up once again for an Oscar, and she will feel the need to raise her standard of acting even higher.

Thanks, Beebers. Mostly her antics are comical and I can laugh them off (try talking to her when she has a headache. That's when she's in her best form). Others she genuinely ticks me off (like when she told her daughter, my wife, that I was bad for her simply because I'm quiet and don't talk much). Fortunately, I don't feel singled out because she treats my wife the same way. Apparently, she still harbors resentment over her daughter's interest in martial arts and weaponry over cheerleading and dolls. But enough about her...who's met celebrities?

I met John Ritter. I think it was in March of 2002. My husband and I went to see him in a play in a tiny theater in Hollywood. He played a mentally retarded man and his performance was excellent and really moving. We're both big Ritter fans and I'm especially a big fan of Three's Company. Afterwards we hung around outside of the theater hoping to meet him and luckily we got to! He was very, very nice, and he talked to us for a few minutes. My husband did most of the talking because I sort of spaced out. He was quite a bit heavier than his Three's Company days but his voice sounded exactly the same and I just sort of stood there in disbelief that Jack Tripper's voice, a voice I'd heard on TV since I was little kid, was being directed at me. He was telling us about a sitcom he was working on that was going to be airing soon (which ended up being "8 Simple Rules"). I eventually pulled myself together and asked him to sign a book I'd brought: "Come and Knock On Our Door: A Hers and Hers and His Guide to Three's Company." I apologized for being a big dork who actually owns a Three's Company book and he said, "No, that's a great book." He wrote inside "For Andy and Jennifer, Two is Company. Love, John Ritter." This is one my favorite memories since moving to L.A. He seemed so gentle, and his eyes had a lot of kindness in them. When I heard that he'd died, I cried.

I've also met Colin Hay several times. He was the lead singer of Men At Work. He plays often in a club in Hollywood and the man is so hilarious. He tells the funniest stories between songs. His post Men At Work solo stuff is really great.

I met Don McLean after a show. He was really nice.

I'm dying to meet Jackson Browne. I keep hoping I'll run into him around town or after a show but no luck so far.
