Of course, every one of us here on this forum is a Muppet fanatic. But their are other people out there in this world who believe that the Muppets are stupid an are for little kids. Was their ever a point in your life where someone made fun of you for being a Muppet fan? I sometimes got teased a bit in school when I was younger. Did any of you ever have that kind of experience?

There's been a lot of things I've been made fun of for...

1. Being a Muppet fan.
2. Liking cartoons (once I was in middle school, you were considered a baby if you liked cartoons and at that time I was obsessed with Courage the Cowardly Dog)
3. Being fat (boy that hurt)!
4. Not liking sports.
5. My love for Kathy Greenwood.
6. Being a Christian (via the internet).

There's one thing that a lot of people have been made fun of for that has happened to me: wearing glasses! I NEVER heard anything about being a "four-eyes" or things like that... in fact, a lot of people think glasses are one of my trademarks.

I've been made fun of for:

1. Being a big fan of the Muppets
2. Watching Sesame Street
3. Watching Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon
5. Being a nerd or a geek

I'm just simply known as "That Muppet chick" throughout school. :smile:

Well, I'm a little embarrassed to say, no I've never been made fun of for liking The Muppets. One time I watched a Sesame Street special while in the third grade, and they laughed at me a bit. But it was good natured.

However, I have been made fun of for other interests. And it's definitely NOT fun. I wish people would not feel so threatened by different tastes. It was hard, but I refused to give in or hide what I enjoyed just because of some teasing.

As you get older, you encounter that less and less. People don't care as much and EVERYONE has an odd taste.

Well, like most of us 'ere, I'm a devoted Muppet geek and darn proud of it! But a lot of people don't understand our apprieciantion for Muppets, thinking it only appeals to little children.
Heh, at school, people see me looking up Muppets and SS on the net and they're like, "Why are you looking up that?? That's for babies!" Y'know? They think they're Too Cool For Muppets, pfft. :stick_out_tongue:

So most of the time I'm refirred to as the 'Muppet Freak' or... 'Little Miss Muppet' or, or even 'Miss Piggy'! But hey, I don't mind that. ^^

So there!:stick_out_tongue:
(This coming from a woman in her 30s.:wink: )
Unfortunately,I'd been made fun of for other things when I was younger,and like heralde said,it isn't fun.:frown:

You tell 'em Kathy!! :attitude: :smile:

I've been teased because:
  • I don't rully like sport (well there's swimming and dancing but... but that's beside the point!);
  • I always go to the library at lunches (cause there's computers ^^);
  • Havn't a unique, twisted sense of humour (I kid you not);
  • And sometimes people just use those things so they can make fun of me in any way they can. Don't ask why. Pah-lease! V.v. pathetic.

Oh gosh...the better question would be what HAVEN'T I been teased for!

The best one thought was people teased me for watching Pokemon..until it became such a sensation...then I sold cards and made huge profits!

Haha
