I don't think Tom has gone mad. He just needs a big attitude adjustment. If I were a celebrity I might act a bit insane myself. Come to think of it, I don't have to be a celebrity to be insane!

His relationship with Holmes is just for show.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Coming home from work yesterday I heard an interview with "The Golden Girls" actress Rue McClanahan. She mentioned being married about 5 or 6 times before her current marriage. Almost like Elizabeth Taylor and Zsa Zsa Gabor. Amazing how many celebrity marriages are so short lived. Remember that game show from the 70's and 80's called "Tattletales"? It was like "The Newlywed Game" but with celebrity couples (And with Bert Convy as the host, whom I really thought was good). Well on "Game Show Network" a few years ago this show used to be on and one time they showed a whole bunch of clips of celebrity couples from the show and how short lived their marriage was. Like they would show a clip of a couple from the show and say. "1974." And then say , "Divorced in 1977."
And yes I agree Tom is sure behaving a little nutty. Perhaps with all these Hollywood movie versions of classic tv sitcoms he is pre-auditioning for a part of a Hooterville farmer in anticipation of a possible upcoming "Green Acres" movie?

I remember TattleTales very well, such an amazing show,to watch how many 'couples' were on their then multiple marriage kick(most spouses really didn't know their significant other all too well).

I(my personal belief) feel, that marriage should be based on: morals, values, compatibility, communication. How 2 people can learn about each others lives(in a minor or major way) in a short period of time(days or even months) & expect their relationship to work is beyond my comprehension.Relationships need: time, nurturing & attention from both sides.

Good thoughts JaniceFerSure.
James Kennedy, pastor from Coral Ridge Ministries, is broadcast here Sunday mornings. I thought he had a very good message on singlehood and marriage this morning. One of his points, which the show underscored with some personal testimonies later, is that it's best not to TRY to find a spouse but just develop your relationships with your friends and family and especially God. And then if and when God feels two single people are mature and ready, He will make it evident to them and bring their hearts together.
James Kennedy also gave a lot of encouragement to singles pointing out that, despite our society's pressures to think that we have to get married or that there must be something wrong with us, single people have very fulfilling lives and can make much (in some cases more, due to more time) contribution to people's lives. He pointed out that while there are many couples in the Bible, there were also singles too, including Paul and Jesus Christ Himself, both of whom obviously had meaningful lives and legacies that have lasted for 2000 years now and impacted the lives of millions.

What's odd is that Tom historically doesn't act like this. I think he has gone a little mad.

A few weeks before that, he did an interview with a guy in Austrailia who asked him some simple questions about Nicole Kidman and he called the interviewer a jerk, said some pretty lame things and acted like he was just the boss of all. Before the Matt Lauer spanking, Tom Cruise had one very strong thing going for him, and that was plain and simple that "He was Tom Cruise." But now he's just an ignorant, arrogant psycho.
I don't know if anyone here is in to scientology and I certainly mean no offense to those who might be, but I've done some light reading and even ran into a group of people who were, I don't know, I guess recruiting for scientology, and they all were a bit pushy for my taste and wouldn't really respect my personal space or comments of "No thank you." I found them to be kinda' creepy. Maybe I just met the wrong bunch, but that was my experience.
