You are not telling the whole story. To say that people on a forum are agreeing with you is foolish. They only know one side of the two sided story. This head in a hole attitude is amazing me.

What about the fact that you didn't have your liscense with you? Or that you had no insurance? Those are major no brainers. That has happened to you before, and you didn't learn your lesson then, so hopefully you will now.

Oh right, he didn't mention that, or a past history. So they'll definitely stress he isn't a responsible driver then and put the blame on him. This sounds far from clear cut - i would definitely get a lawyer to represent me for this if there's an option to do so. Byron - Never walk into a court room depending on one party to say one thing, or thinking it's gonna go one way because you think what you are saying is right. At least here, they usually fudge through any explanations and really just stick to what the points of law are and whether they were broken, and you really got to watch these kind of things when they say it's a just turn up and you can talk for yourself kinda thing - they have the advantage of knowing the law and you don't so they might get you to say one thing which you don't realise puts you in the doggy poop.

First of all, if you knew the physical and mental stress I've been through, you would not say I was havin' a "golly gosh" attitude---that is far from the truth.

If I seem "golly gosh", that is only because I put myself through much more strain than was needed---after numerous people tellin' me so, includin' the retired state trooper.

I took it for granted my wallet was in my vehicle, but it wasn't. And I don't know why insurance wasn't in there, I always put the new card in the glove compartment. The license thing was just once before, and I always have it on me---this was just the one time it didn't happen to be, though I thought it was somewhere in the front of the vehicle (since I didn't see it in my home). And those aren't going to be anything anyway, I just have to show my proof I have 'em, and that's that---again, insider information from people who know.

As for "to say that people agree with you on a forum is foolish", I didn't mean the forum, when I said "everyone here", I meant everyone where I am, the people I've talked to where I live. And I explained everything to them.

Oh, I am, thanks. I have people in law enforcement who know stuff like this helpin' me out, and I've told 'em about that in even more detail. So they'll let me know about anything fishy, or what I should/shouldn't do.

The DA is on the other side though right ? I mean i take it they'd rather you didn't have a lawyer. Take independant advice, although i guess you have with the state trooper, but if anybody even casts the slightest shadow of a doubt and you can afford representation then i would go with a lawyer if you can. I'm guessing these court people mess about the normal people wheras the lawyers have been through it tons of times. As said, just be careful and don't go along with anything unless you are fully aware of everything and it's conotations.

The other driver was speeding according to *you*. I am certain that the people in the other car will not claim to have been driving too fast, and honestly, how do you know they were speeding anyway? Even a car going the speed limit would seem to be coming at you pretty fast if you were driving in their lane... which by your own admission, you were. Frankly, if you hadn't been in the other lane, speeding or not, there wouldn't have been a collision of any kind.
