I guess I'll tape it, maybe I'll give Krofft a try. Wait, they showed something like this on Nick At Nite many moons ago.

Does that mean that they'll start showing all the episodes in order? As in if it does ok we'll start seeing all those shows on TV land? And if it does ok well we see maybe " The Muppets" maybe?

What the heck are Krofft characters anyway? I've seen them before and they were a tad creepy.

Exactly. I mean, c'mon, TV Land and Noggin are sister networks. If you want to show a real good children's series, why not show the 1969-1989 episodes of "Sesame Street?" That's a real classic. And when I watch it, I don't feel "high."

Drugs? You are crazy!

I watched H.R. Pufnstuf as a child on NBC in the late 60's & early 70's. I loved it from the second I saw the program. I continue to admire this program, and other Krofft productions to this day.

Granted the characters are rather odd, but this is a FANTASY program. Anyone who must read drug references into this program needs to find something better to do. Try spinning a record backward to find hidden messages from Charles Manson.

And in case you are wondering, I am NOT a drug user. I do not drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or drink beverages that contain caffeine.

Have you ever watched EARLY Muppets? Were Jim and crew "on drugs"?

:grouchy:

For those of you who LOVE H.R. Pufnstuf, the new DVD set is GREAT!!!

I can see why you'd say that..however, they didn't put obvious drug refrences in the titles (Lidsville, H.R. Pufnstuf (Hand Rolled Puffing Stuff) )

Also, it wouldn't suprise me if Jim did experiment. It was the 60's, it was in the culture. Most artists at least tried it anyhow.

I posted a this link to an article about the Pufnstuf TV land marathon in my blog the other day.

In it Marty Kroft once again denies that he and Sid were using drugs when they made the show. They've been forced to defend themselves against these rumours for years. I'm not convinced that they didn't necessarily experiment with drugs (most people their age in the 60s did at least once or twice) but I doubt they could have done the work they did if they were heavy drug users.
