I never had a problem with Floyd's eyes.
I am assuming here, that in season one he DID have shades, as apposed to those eyes.

My guess, they're like black, beady, Peanuts character eyes.

I've seen pictures of Floyd at the Season one episode guide and his eyes didn't look too different than usual. I might have to look closer at that whenever I get more season 1 videos.
