First Names on MC

I don't really have a problem saying my first name. It's Kendra. I just hate the name so I call my self Kenny or FRM.

I noticed that quite a few people use their first names on here rather than hiding behind an alias.
I was wondering why people do this. Is it because maybe you are older and therefore unafraid of internet threats, because you feel safe here, because you just don't mind, or to be more personable to the people here? Or something else?

I use my nickname for my alias (Which is my first name) because well...I wasn't creative enough to come up with a really really cool username.

Tingrin just found out my first name recently *laughs* He doesn't pay attention. They make me sooo mad they have no right to do that to you! He knows the city/county, town, i dont know what you call it really I live in too. Ah well.

I don't see any harm in people knowing my first name, cause that doesn't tell you a whole lot about me. Mainly I started using it because it's easier over in Muppet College Dorms. I do like my username though too. I answer to both.

My first name is Melissa and I give you a general area where I live (Charleston, SC can imply a lot of area). I figure if people want to know that badly they'll find it whether I post it directly or not.

In places I've been a member of longer I have links to websites that have my pictures and my family's pictures on it.

I guess in the long run it depends on how comfortable I get and how well I want to get to know others here.

I'm known only as Beau by most folks, though if you search a little you can find my real name, but not my last name. It was mainly paranoia at first, but now I just like my user-name as much/or more than my real name...

I only give out my first name. (unless I'm writing to Mr. Nelson or a Muppeteer, then I use my last name)
