Ever notice on the first day of school that parents rejoice about their kids going back to school because the kids are going to be out of their for about 8 hours. I always thought that was funny. I guess parents get tired of their kids over the summer and celebrate when school resumes.

8 hours? What school last for 8 hours? School, as I know it, has always lasted for 7 hours.

True, true, but my daughter is about to start Junior Kindergarten...it'll be her first day of school in about 3 weeks. She's the excited one who's dancing all over the house and I'm the one in tears because she's growing up. :embarrassed:

Hi, D'Snowth!

Junior Kindergarten starts when your child turns four years old and Senior Kindergarten when he/she turns 5. Must be an Ontario thing.

When my daughter started her first day of school i was upset because she looked all grown up in her uniform, and it is a emotional time as you have had the child home for five years, probably attending preschool a couple of times a week and then they are going five days a week. When they are off for the summer for six weeks they drive you bananas as they are bored, don't know what to do, so yes u get a bit happy when they go back in january. my kids love school so they are happy to return each january to start the new year. I love spending the holidays with my kids i try to find different things to do that stay in my budget.

I just graduated this summer. It seems strange to me not to be going.
