For example, if Family Matters was released to DVD like Sonic the Hedgehog ["SatAM"] & The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog were, I am sure Jaleel White--aka Steve Urkel & the voice of old-school Sonic--would want some compensation, considering that those are the only two franchises that he's most remembered for.
Well, I'm sure he would receive some for his work on the show...

Of course, I kid... but let's not forget the old practice of "Wiping" where work was actually taped over to save video tape. A lot of old British sitcoms were destroyed that way.

And some people do that after they've seen the same show over and over, therby being able to recall it from memory, word for word.

Actually I take that back. That is just what the threat of the actors stake is about I believe. I mean the cast of Seinfeld didn't want to participate in the DVD in less they saw some revenue from the beck end.

Odd. Most people seem just content to have their work put out there.

This is very true but this is the cast who refused to do the last season in less they were payed as muhc as the shoes main star and who also early on asked for creative control and ownership of the show and a piece of the back end (money) and were turned down. But they did get nice hefty raises in the last season thought even though it wasn't what they were asking for. But it comes as no surprise to me.

Well it people are making a lot of money off you...
If only they'd use the money for quality programs and other things we could really use (like more money for education, so schools wouldn't have to speed children through childhood so fast).
