Then shudder at this though... one series set is basically a big spool in a box and all the disks are ON TOP OF EACH OTHER!

Of course, it's What's happenin', and I hate that show, and I think its fitting... but even then, it's the worst idea ever.
*LOL* It sounds like they think we want to use them as blank DVD-R discs :coy:! No series should have that :sympathy:

Right. Imagine how the cast must feel about their years of work being flushed down the drain by some corporate decision.

Many of those shows were a big step back then (even if you do or don't like them), that and Good Times ..Which, wasn't about many good times really :stick_out_tongue:. But I am a fan of What's Happening :3

Yes they were. They were among the top ones--along with Cosby, Julia, and others--to bring African Americans to the forefront.

I loved them..you see I know it might sound a bit weird, but I have always had a strong draw towards African Americans in media or art, since I was little, even though I am not of that background myself. I guess you could call it idolizing in a way that falls just short of being a wanta be *lol* When I was little I always wanted the AA Barbies and Cabbage Patch Kids to..I've always thought of black as beautiful..Of course there is good and bad in every culture, and I am color blind on a day to day basis. But if the subject ever comes up in that certain way, I really do admire what makes them different as well as the same as human beings with their own culture to add to the melting pot . Because we are all different and the same from one another and our media is a mirror of that

But it IS "What's Happening?" It pretty much is something that would get flushed anyway...

Though there are others Sony has released like that... Sanford and Son unfortunately could have been one of them.

Only if they dislike it. And even if they do, not everyone agrees with them. I know I don't:sympathy:

Plus, certainly the cast and crew of the show wouldn't've liked to see their work flushed.

It's not that intense. I mean I'm sure the cast is happy to even see that it's being released. So the work is not being flushed away, but it could get better treatment if it was a bigger priority for them...

For example, if Family Matters was released to DVD like Sonic the Hedgehog ["SatAM"] & The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog were, I am sure Jaleel White--aka Steve Urkel & the voice of old-school Sonic--would want some compensation, considering that those are the only two franchises that he's most remembered for.
