:smirk:

I just came back from returning my first copy of the final season (actually part of the complete series set) as it had an error on it during the Wembley's Flight episode. Ack! The second copy has the same error in the same place.

It is right after Wembley tells Red and Gobo he can fly and he will prove it...etc. The disc then skips ahead a chapter or two and attempts to go back freeze the disc.

Anybody else have this problem on this disc?

I haven't had time to view my set yet, but if others have I hope someone chimes in on this and lets us know. I have no clue why it seems these sets are always such problems these days. My Addams Family and Munsters sets had problems similar to that.

A bit of an update. After returning the second set to the store I found they no longer had any in stock. The clerk allowed an exchange, however, for the single defective disc from the last copy of the stand-alone Final Season set they had. I am happy to say, knock wood, that this one works. Maybe the error is isolated to the series box sets?

Anywho, happy to finally see Wembley fly! :coy:

I had a similar problem when TMS Season 2 came out: the first time it arrived from Amazon, there was a weird-looking mark on Disc 4 which made me not want to put it in my Panasonic DVD player. When I got the replacement set, Disc 1 wouldn't work on my Panasonic - whenever I selected an episode, the disc would freeze and I'd have to shut the machine down to eject it. (Amazon gave me a refund instead of a replacement this time.)

When I got the set from Borders last year, Disc 1 had the same problem as the Amazon replacement set. I contacted Buena Vista tech support online, and also got to talk with someone on the phone about this issue. They offered to send me a replacement disc if I sent them the defective Disc 1. I did so and, lo and behold, I got my replacement Disc 1 which works perfectly, and that's the end of that.

To sum it up: it might also help to call the toll-free number on the DVD box (or visit the website).

I've got a problem on disc 17 I think (whichever was the one with Red's Blue Dragon) ... it freezes on two whole episodes. That bites.

This is the same disc as Wembley's Flight so, yes, the same disc I had problems with. Seems like a mastering error on a batch of these.

I also had issues with a disc in Season 2 of the Muppet show. It was the disc with Vincent Price on it. I returned it and exchanged it about 5 times with errors on all the discs. They wouldn't play in my player but for some reason would by in my computer.

I'll say you had an error on that disc! The Vincent Price episode isn't even part of Season 2!

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

You know... sometimes it's also a glitch on the player. I had to return the ALVIIIIN collection DVD because one episode skipped, and once I got a new copy, I tried it on a different player (something I should have done in the first place) and it worked fine. There was also a Super Mario box set that wouldn't read on my player (unless I unplugged it and fiddled with it), but worked perfectly fine when I played it on someone else's...
