Just thought I'd let you people know what's going on with me at the moment. In precisely 6 days (closer to 5 now...it's late) my school (not the actual building, the people in it) will be performing Fiddler On The Roof. I'm playing Perchik and I am amazingly nervous 'cos I'm only a weedy thing and he's supposed to be this strong character.

Was just wondering if anyone (apart from the ultra-fab Dee) is into Fiddler or has performed in it themselves.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, DanDan, our highschool performed that musical as well. Unfortunately I didn't get in, but boy it was so fun to watch! Could you remind me about who your character is exactly? You may be nervous now, but all in all it's a great experience (or so I've been told)!
Break a leg!

Oh, how cool to be playing Perchik! My brother was Yussel the hatter two years ago in his school's production. I played the keyboard in the orchestra for our production six years ago, supplying the accordion and glockenspiel. I'd love to be in it - or any musical! Especially "The Sound of Music."

Never performed in it, but a couple of songs were included in a musical review we did my senior year in high school. There was a tiny little guy who had to sing "If I Were a Rich Man" We stuffed his costume with pillows! Anyway, it's a great show and I'm sure you'll do great Dan!

Love the show! It was so beautifully written, wasn't it. One of my all time favorite musicals. I got to play Tevye in a musical theater class project. Of course in reality, i won't be playing that role for another 20-30 years. If I were to do an actual production of it, I would probably be playing Perchik too. he is a great part and gets to sing one of the best songs.

You are so lucky, Bear, Tevye is such an awesome character. The guy who's playing him at my school is totally...amazing.

'Fiddler on the Roof'

"Fiddler on the Roof" was the first movie soundtrack I got to listen to as a kid.Perchik was played by 'Starsky and Hutch' actor Michael Glaser(Paul aka Starsky).Perchik comes from Kiev and is taken in by Tevye's family, provides him with food and home,in exchange that he teaches Tevye's youngest daughters the Bible.Perchik falls in love with the 2nd oldest daughter,Hodel.Perchik is non-Jewish,and a rebel, standing up for people's rights. One day,he is arrested during a protest, and is sent to jail in Siberia.Hodel takes a train to be with Perchik in Siberia, thus leaving her family and her home & sings 'Far From the Home I Love'.

Hiya DanDan,miss you much!
