Thank you Hope.
Let me just say that my friend has been writing back to me and I'm not bringing God into it at all in a major way for the moment. I have told her that I'm going to be enrolled as an adherent member of the Salvation Army in September and I will let her know how the ceremony went. But for now I'm happy to just establish a friendship with her and pray for God to use what I say in little ways passing to sow and water seed in her heart.
God bless you Hope and thanks once again for your prayerful support.

Marty, I will keep praying; I admire you! All will be well, my friend. You have expressed your spiritual desires very well here; I understand. Keep marching in the faith!

I thought i would bump this thread with a question that gas been bothering me and keeping me up at night thinking about.

I was in a church where I thought God was telling me to go to, and I also thought the Lord was going to use the pastor there to help me get out of the backslideing condition i was heading towards. (Truth be told I'm still backsliding to this day) The pastor and I go way back, I can truly say that he was more then likely the last person i was really able to get close to. Anyways the pastor leaves our church and goes to work at another church in another state, and our church fell apart. There was a huge blow out about who the next pastor should be, and many people left because of who became pastor. That also cause another little church to spring up which is now no longer, because of who knows why. Then when the new pastor came in and started to take control he ran off even more people. My question is this how can God take his hand off of a church that was doing things for him, and let things like this happen? Many people inculding myself have suffered a great deal because of this, and I still am haveing questions, about how could all this have happend. I know that this must seem to confusing I just needed to clear my head.

well maybe God did not remove his hand from the church at all. Maybe it wss the people who removed themselves from God's hand.

That's the way I would see it William. God never fails us, but sadly we may fail him.

I've heard it said if you think God is far away you need to ask yourself who really moved? It's always people who distance themselves from God. Never the other way around. God could never be unfaithful. His character is absolutely perfect.
