I'm a bit late to this conversation, but I'm a Presbyterian. I still attend the church in which I was baptized, and I volunteer in various ways there (including teaching 5th grade Sunday School starting this fall:eek:). I had perfect attendance at Sunday School for eight solid years, between the ages of 4 and 11, and I still have the little pins to prove it. Hello and peace to all you other doubly enlightened people.

Welcome to the forum, Wilson! Peace to you! God bless with your Sunday School.

Great to meet you both here Hope Mills and wilson. God bless both of you.

And I used to be a Presbyterian like you and Ilikemuppets wilson. (I may have possibly mentioned that somewhere in here before) I've been Presbyterian, Anglican and Catholic during my life, but I'm pretty sure now that I've found my final destination with the Salvation Army. In fact I am to be officially enrolled as an adherent member in September. :excited: :super:

Marty, I did want to accept your invitation to talk with you on your "Fellow church people" thread, (per your p.m. to me) but I am getting ready for other matters at this time, I will not be available to do so afterall; but I will still continue to pray for your friend as well as many others in the world.

Here is just a small bit of seasoned and my own personally induced advice: sometimes it is best to let one's own distinct fate be their essential guide. Remember the old adage "You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make it drink." In my own words, leading by good example is always best applied in Christian efforts. If your friend is not responding and showing signs of self-improvement on their own, after all your missionary efforts are used to persuading them, then maybe there are other measures to consider, not just the spiritual, although God is the ultimate answer to all troubles related to humankind.

God bless!

I think it's very true about leading by example. Ultimately, your own behavior and expressions of compassion and love are what should inspire people.

Hi, heralde!

I'm sorry, sweetie, I was logging out of MCF, as you were threading into my personal e-mail account; otherwise I would have replied to your post much sooner. And, to be honest about it, this "church" thread is hardly ever that busy anyway so I am suprised!

Honey, you are correct, and I agree. Compassion and love will inspire others and ourselves to press onward. Dear, if I can ever inspire you with anything, or you for me, of good works please p.m. me. And I will be there for you, and thanks for your thoughts; your ideas are such a sincere and gentle proverb for me in my evening of rest. ((((heralde))))

Aww thanks, glad I could inspire! :halo:

"God has watched over me the whole night and has brought me to this new day."

It's great to keep this saying in mind every morning. Makes getting up early a bit easier!

You are very welcome! And, yes, I have learned to respect the power of the Lord also, and to get up early myself to a glorious day!

:smile:Goodnight, dear, and do continue to be blessed with a great night!
