CHAPTER 6

The following Wednesday again at 2 o'clock, Father Marty was visited by Cookie once more.
"How are you Cookie my friend?" Father Marty asked cheerfully.
"Me fine Father."
Cookie placed his homework papers on the desk that still had a huge bite taken out of it. Father Marty stared at it for a couple of seconds then smiled broadly.
"I see you haven't eaten your homework Cookie."
"That right. Me haven't. But me so amazed Father."
"What are you amazed about Cookie?"
"Well after me got home, me sat down to study me notes. Me became hungry as me worked. And before me knew it me was about to eat me's homework. But then something very strange happen."
"Tell me Cookie."
"Before me could eat papers, me begin to sneeze without being able to stop. When me did stop me find that every time me try to eat me homework me fall into big sneezing fit. Finally me get hint and have some cookies whenever me felt hungry and finished me homework. And you know what? Me want to learn more and more about Jesus Father. There just something about what me learned in me first lesson."
"God works in many mysterious and miraculous ways Cookie Monster. Let's pray."
Father Marty led Cookie in a prayer of thanks for keeping him from eating his study notes and for guidance by the Holy Spirit in the rest of his sessions with him. As he was finishing he heard some small nibbling and opening his eyes he saw Cookie gently gnawing on the hole in his desk.
"If it will help you control yourself Cookie, I have some cookies to give you after our session todayfor doing such a great job with your homework. I must add though I can tell you are trying since you only nibbled rather than taking another huge bite."
Cookie found Father Marty's words encouraging and he was rapt to attention as the second lesson began. Father Marty sensed that his Muppet Ministry was off to a wonderful start.

THE END OF THIS STORY. BUT THE BEGINNING OF ALL THE OTHERS TO LOOK FORWARD TO.

This had a nice simple ending, I liked it. It's not saying that Cookie is magically different and free of his troubles, but that he is improving and with Father Marty's guidence he will continue to become a better well, monster. I like that. Great job Marty! It would be interesting to see other Muppets meet with Father Marty.

Aww, what a great story, Marty! Thank you again for alerting me to it. It's so sweet and adorable. Cookie was a great Muppet to start with, hehe. He was so cute how even though he wanted to get better, he kept taking bites outta everything! And it does take some time naturally, but you can definitely tell that he's improving already. That's perfect, Marty. And I'm so happy that you're planning to have some more stories coming, too! I can't wait for 'em!

I've given this a bump so you can have a chance to look at my now completed Father Marty trilogy. I may write some more in the future if I feel any special inspiration, but for now I'm so pleased to finally have all three of them completed.
