Oh, wow. The past two chapters are really amazing. What an insight into Convincing John. On top of that these two chapters were really just very, (sorry to be so corny) fraggley.

Looking forward to what else happens!

Geez.....story coming up quite soon. Been overwhelmed....wondering where money is going to come to pay off all these things I have to deal with. x_x To be honest, lately the littlest thing would set me off crying, and not in a good way. Like "it's a beautiful story and I'm crying cause of that" crying. :frown: But I've pulled myself (yet again) out of the slump, and I'm back once more. Ready and rearing to put out more story!

Chapter Twelve

Red watched as House and Healer went about their daily chores. She noticed House seemed to be a bit slower then Healer was, although he was considerably younger then her. It was almost like "good cop, bad cop" if they even knew what or who a cop was; the way those two acted around Red. She sat up a bit more in the bed, and looked over at House, who was writing something down on a notepad.

"Mufphllphft!" She mumbled to him, to get his attention.

"Don't try it again young fraggle. Or I'll tape it around your head this time!" He replied, without looking up from the notepad. His long, grayed hair was hanging over into his face, as he continued to scribble and write.

"Bullfust!!" She mumbled again, in slight anger. 'Why won't he come over here? He can't see this pad of paper all across the room, I want to ask him something!" She was thinking loud and clear, wishing that House could somehow read minds perhaps.

He set down the notepad, and walked over to where she is. She could see behind his cold, calculating watery blue eyes; that he was just a tired old man not used to having to deal with young people all the time. Without giving that much thought, she handed him the notepad quickly. He glanced at it, then handed it back to her without a word. Walking back over to the desk, he picked up the notepad and his quill and continued writing.

Red's eyes grew large. He didn't answer her question! She finally got him over there to look at it, and he didn't even answer her. Her strength was thankfully rebuilding, and she sat up almost straight in the bed, leaning against the back board. Her eyes turned towards him, and she reached up putting her hand on the tube. She knew one thing would get that old curmudgeon to take notice of her. She begin to softly tug at the tube once more, unpeeling the tape from the sides of her cheeks. Very soft hisses of air could be heard escaping as she exhaled.

"You're almost there, young fraggle. But you're still not strong enough. You severely damaged your lungs." House started to say, not looking up at her. In reality he was looking at her, out of the corner of his eye. "Just tape your face back up, because I'm not going to do that again. You want to pull that out and damage yourself again? Possibly die? Then go right ahead and do it, Red. I will not stop you this time."

He shook his head softly, closing up the notepad, and setting it down as he stood up from the chair. Turning to leave the room, he smirked softly to himself.

"Oh, he'll be coming back. Just be patient and wait. You should know yourself he'd never stop doing what he wants to do." He paused for a moment, and turned to meet Red; eye to eye. "But you should learn that, or he'll not have anything to come back to."

She stopped, then continued to pull it out. her eyes blazing defiance. His smirk dissolved into a deep frown, and he continued to leave the room, closing the curtain halfway behind him. She froze, and watched in astonishment.

'....He's not stopping me....'

She shook her head, and pushed the tube back in. Tears welled at the thought of being near death again. She remembered just what Gobo had risked to even...save her. She couldn't be stupid just to prove a point! That stuffy old man was right. She had to learn patience, and by goodness she was going to learn it! Settling back down on the bed, she sighed inwardly; wishing Gobo was already there.

She also wished she'd never demanded he do that.

***

He kept running. The nightlily delicately clutched in his hands. His thoughts turned to Red. Wondering if she'll be awake by the time he got back. Wondering if she could have passed away. He had no idea how she was doing, he was gone for nearly 3 days already. The cavern was normally almost a week's time away. He ran the entire time. To it and from it. His thoughts drifted from Red to John.

"Why was John in the caverns? He looked like he had been crying....for a long time." Shaking his head clear of those questions, he saw he had in fact made wonderful time and was already nearing the Healer's Cavern.

Healer was infact outside, gathering some fresh herbs from her small garden when she saw Gobo tearing over the last hill. He looked frazzled and worn out, like he would try to take flight just to get into the doorway. She stood up, and blocked the doorway easily, as she was no young, thin Fraggle.

"Madame Healer! Oh hi! I...I need to....I need to get in there!!" He panted and gasped, looking wild-eyed for all the caves to see.

"Hello there Gobo. Why don't you take a few deep breaths, and calm yourself down! You look like you've just eaten a whole basket of pop-uppers!" She remarked, noticing how hyper he seemed. "...you haven't been eating any pop-uppers have you?"

"Huh? No...no I haven't, Madame Healer. I..." He finally stopped for a few moments and took a few deep, slow breaths. He visibly calmed down after that. "I'm just so excited! I made it back and I'm not harmed! I've also got the nightlily! See?" He pulled out the dark nightlily and Healer smiled, glancing at it.

"Okay then. I just didn't want you upsetting her." She paused for a moment, and smiled, as she stepped to the side to allow Gobo inside. "Or Red. She may not be able to handle your hyperness just yet!" With a hearty laugh, she went back to her gathering, expecting to come inside in a few moments.

Gobo slowly made his way through the few winding hallways, past Healer's main 'house' and into the 'hospital' area. He started to go into Red's room and she wasn't there. Just a rock hugger clinging to the headboard of the bed. Staring at him. And it was still as a statue.

"Oh no...what is that doing there!!" He exclaimed, then noticing the ventilator was still sitting in the room; tears began to flow. He thought perhaps....no he couldn't even think those thoughts! Tearing out of the room, he got silent, trying to follow the sound of someone's voice. But it wasn't House's voice...it was....

"That's....that's Red's voice!" He went zooming off towards her voice. And when he finally found where it was coming from, he saw House and Red sitting at a table; with Red sipping on a cup of hot cocoa. "Red! Oh Red you're better!! I...WOAH!!!"

His sentence dissolved into a shout, as his foot hit the rug, and he went off slapping into the wall. He shook his head and picked himself up off of the floor, and looked over at Red. His eyes were as wide as saucers and he was slack-jawed.

Red coughed softly, and smirked at him. "Well? Arn't you going to sit down, or something like that?" Her voice was still decidedly stratchy, and it sounded like she was speaking through a mouthful of cotton fluff; but she didn't have that respriator on anymore and she was breathing normally.

"Y-Yeah. Of course, Red." Gobo settled into the seat beside her, and he smiled over at her. She was radiant, he thought. She was back in her old beautiful red sweater, her hair was back in their pigtails, and everything seemed perfect. "Wait a moment....why was that rock climber on the headstand of your bed?"

"Oh that thing? It..It's uh, actually dead, Gobo." She replied, looking over at him.

"But it was looking straight at me!" He exclaimed, thinking back. "...But it wasn't moving. It was just still."

House looked over at Gobo and frowned, as he walked towards the bedroom Red was in before. "I thought I tossed that thing down the trash ravine a few hours ago...."

Gobo never seemed to notice that House had even spoken. Red smiled a little, and gave Gobo a tight hug. He set the nightlily on the table, actually forgetting about it for a moment, as they shared a kiss. Healer was grinning from ear to ear as she saw this. Setting down her basket of herbs she went to the kitchen to start a meal for them.

"Don't forget Gobo!" She said in a sing-song voice. "Oh I almost forgot! You can all come in now!"

At that Mokey, Boober, and Wembley came rushing inside into the sitting room where Red and Gobo were. Mokey was blushing, happy about what she had a feeling was going to happen. Wembley was a little worried, he thought because he didn't particularly like being in a place where you could get hurt easily, although you could also be cured if something happened to you. And for Boober...well let's just say he had no complaints whatsoever.

"You guys, you're all here!" Red choked out, smiling broadly. "I can't believe it!"

"Well believe it! When Healer told us what had happened, we came right over!" Wembley said a little proudly.

"This place is beautiful...." Boober murmured, looking at all the spotless clean areas.

"Boober....Yes, we couldn't wait to make sure you were alright Red. When Healer told you had finally woken up, well, we just couldn't wait!" Mokey gushed, as she hugged Red tightly.

"...finally....woken up?" Red uttered, in shock. "But...but I've been awake!"

Gobo looked over at Red, and frowned a little. "Red....you were maybe awake for 20 minutes when I brought you in, after you had spit up the water. After that....you had slipped into a coma." Gobo sat back down beside her and took her hand gently.

"But....but we talked, and this old fraggle...House, he cared for me! And Healer did too! They both helped me! I took the breathing tube out once, so I could ask you to pick a nightlily for me!" She was nearly shouting then, and she doubled over coughing hard and deep. "I..." She was wracked by another fit of coughing, then and she couldn't speak.

"Red? Are you okay?" Mokey asked, looking down into Red's face. Healer came over, and handed her a fresh cup of moss tea.

"Drink this, Red. It'll help your throat. You shouldn't yell. Frankly I don't think you should be talking much yet anyways!" She shook her head, and sat down across from Red, as she took small sips of the sweet, hot tea. "Red...are you talking about House Fraggle? Long graying brown hair, gruff attitude?"

Red nodded, looking at Healer expectantly. She hoped she could give an answer to this craziness that Gobo was speaking of. In a coma? She remembered being awake many times while being in there! Taking the tube out, talking to Gobo; almost fighting with House on many different occasions....

"Red, honey." Healer frowned softly, tears coming to her eyes as she spoke. "House died two years ago. He drowned in one of the lower caverns, where he lived."

Well... Couple of little things that need cleaning up... But you mean about House Fraggle? Yes, it makes some sense... A guiding spirit who died in a similar situation to the one facing Red, her being in a state between waking and sleep of either the coma or full consciousness... How he was seen only by Red and Healer...
Good good stuff in this chapter li'l cuz... Hopefully more will get posted soon.

I just re-read the chapter....UGH. I can't believe I made those mistakes! Gobo was not supposed to be reacting to House. Cause uh....he's not there! XD That's why I said I hoped the chapter made sense, because I realized something had to happen. House is such a unique character (to a degree, of course...XD) but....I just couldn't write for him anymore, speaking wise. I had to figure out someway to write him out with it making sense!

And so, he drowned. Two years ago, in his own cavern. Which will be addressed in the up-coming chapter (which I'm writing right now as I type this.) But I threw that in at the end, and I had to go back through the chapter and fix it all up. Which ended up me missing two or three key points throughout the chapter of someone other then Healer (which would make sense to Red, as she is always there. XD) which ended up being Gobo I believe. And because it's been more then 6 hours (which I figured is the cap point for editing something...) I can't change it to what I want.

Well, anyways: More story soon!!
