Did anyone else ever watch Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre? I have the complete series on DVD and it is one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I thought I'd ask, b/c this series seems like something that most Muppet fans would love.

Oh yeah, I remember this great show!!

My two favorites were Pinocchio with Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee!) and The Frog Prince, with Robin Williams.

Oh yes, me too! There's another thread on this, by the way, just so you know how popular it really was!
 Yes, it did seem rather muppet fan compatible at times!
Peytent, where and when did you buy it? I'm sooo jealous!

I bought it online. I think it was Starmaker or something like that. Whatever the case, the company no longer has it for sale, or produces the DVDs. I don't know what the deal was, but I guess their contract ran out. I've seen the set I have at Sam's Club, but that's been ages ago. I think there is supposed to be a new DVD set coming out, but who knows. It's really a weird situation. Check out the Faerie Tale Theatre forum on IMDB.com for full info.

I have not seen the series but will now look into it. Anything with Robin Williams in it is golden & Pee Wee is just a nice perk!
I have seen Hello Kitty's Furrytail Theatre.
....It's prolly not the same tho.

Probably not.

Faerie Tale Theatre was produced in the 80s. It was a TV show where each episode was a classic fairy tale retold with an all-star cast. Robin Williams is in "The Frog Prince", Helen Mirren is in "The Little Mermaid", Howie Mandell is in "The Princess Who Never Laughed", etc. There's also Bernadette Peters, Christopher Reeve, Christopher Lee, Mick Jagger, Vanessa Redgrave, Alfre Woodard, Ben Vereen, Matthew Broderick, Anjelica Huston, Carrie Fisher, and a whooole lot more. It's a lot of fun to watch, because so many of the stars are now dead, but there are also several people who have since become really famous.

We used to watch this all the time--my mom would rent them from the video store, and eventually bought a couple of the used copies on Beta when they were selling off their stock. I especially remember Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, and The Boy Who Left Home To Find Out About The Shivers.
