Does anyone remember Shelley's equally-interesting follow-up series? It was called Shelley Duvall's Tall Tales and Legends, and ran between 1985 and 1987. Only 9 shows were produced, but they're all available on VHS and DVD. Like Faerie Tale Theater, Tall Tales and Legends took real-life or legendary characters, and put its own unique spin on their stories, complete with familiar faces.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - Ed Begley Jr. & Beverly D'Angelo

Pecos Bill - Steve Guttenberg & Rebecca De Mornay

Casey at the Bat - Elliott Gould, Carol Kane & Howard Cosell

Darlin' Clementine - Shelley Duvall, Ed Asner & Michael Richards

Johnny Appleseed - Martin Short, Molly Ringwald & Rob Reiner

Ponce de Leon - Michael York, Sally Kellerman & Paul Rodriguez

John Henry - Danny Glover & Tom Hulce

Davy Crockett - Mac Davis, McLean Stevenson & Michael McKean

Annie Oakley - Jamie Lee Curtis & Brian Dennehy

I have heard of that show, but never seen it. It sounds good. Also, I recognize a lot of Muppet people names on that list.

I remember hearing about the Tall Tales show, but I never saw it. I think it was on a channel we didn't get. Maybe sometime I'll get the chance to check it out, maybe when I'm in a nostalgic mood. Glad to hear it was well-done.
