Ernie and Bert on the Auction Block... Again

These are the same pictures, and the positive feedback from the first B&E auction leads me to believe the seller is making / has made another pair of puppets. The first auction went for over $1,200 and since then they feel they deserve $600 for each puppet they put on ebay (jim, beaker, elmo). As of last week, none of these had sold, I don't think anyone wants to pay more than $300 each.
No, they are not perfect but if I could justify spending that much on a puppet, and convince my wife not to kill me, I would like to have all of them.

They look better then the last set, but they are the same pics. The new ones are a little darker also then the last time we saw them. They are kinda growing on me.

I just got an email back from the first buyer and he did get the puppets and he said they were great and really look better in motion.

I just don't think it is right to build a fake of a classic SS Muppet and try to sell it to people for $600-$1000. I know they don't even look exactly like the real thing but they are pretty close to know exactly who it is. They are making all this profit off of phonies. I mean, that would be like me making copies of all my Sesame Street DVDs and publically selling them on ebay for my own profit. Just seems sketchy. Maybe if they lowered the price several hundred dollars then it wouldn't seem as bad. I mean come on now. Who is going to pay that much for something that isn't even authentic? You'd have to be extremely wealthy or a fool. This puppet maker must be pretty sneaky to know that there are people out there who would give in to this. Why don't they create their own characters to sell? It would be a lot more credible. Just IMO.

I think these look just fine and are better than i could do. I like the Ernie especially, but the Bert only looks good in the face-on shot.

Of course some of you on these boards have made replica puppets and you KNOW I'm a fan of your replications...don't ya?
