I love the song "You are always on my mind"!
See? I wrote a blog on this so I wouldn't have to talk about this lol. But seriously, I liked Willie Nelson's version better to tell you the truth. BUT, he might still be alive working at a Wal*Mart.....well, read the rest in my blog(shameless plug)

They ended an Elvis 30th Anniversary Tour here in Memphis, debuting Lisa Marie's new video "In The Ghetto," singing the song "Natalie/Nat King Cole" style. Lisa and Priscilla were both there.

The concert was awesome! They took old film footage, deleted everything except for Elvis' voice, and invited his original band members and back up singers to perform live with his video behind him.

I got some 'bad' video of it on my cellphone that I plan to post somewhere as soon as I figure how to do it, but took that video so my mom and Papa Roy could share in the experience.

Bad news is that an older woman who was here in her RV at an RV Park (duh) died because of the heat. They had to break in to get to her. We've had horrible heat this year. Lin says, "I know when it's Elvis Death Week in Memphis." I said, "How, because of the tourists?" He said, "Nope. Because of the heat!"

I don't DARE go down around Graceland this time of year. ugh. But, we obviously love the tourists.

Sorry y'all, I was a bit late replying to this thread, wasn't I? I know it's been ages since he died (I was gonna make a thread myself, but I'm glad SSLfan made one anyways), and this is an old thread, but when it was the 30th anniversery of bawled my eyes out. I was so upset. In light of his death I wore my Elvis earrings, but no one at school really got the reason why I wore them until a couple of days later when they're folks told them.
Elvis was the first singer I ever listened to, according to my Mum, may he rest in peace.

Hi, Kiki! Yeah Elvis was probably one of the first singers I ever heard too! Funny how that worked out since he was around so many years ago. Whatever anyone says now, he definitely made an impact on pop music. I wish young people could be more introduced to his music, and the early Rock n Roll that came before him.
