As far as why they picked up the line, somewhere in some thread, I've forgotten which one it was (maybe the first original thread about the posers), I mentioned that if MR dropped the line there was another company that could pick up the slack. That was eFX all along. Certain conditions needed to be met for them to do it, and obviously, since they're doing it, their conditions have been met. (These were just business matters that make no difference to any of us.)

From what I've been told, I don't think we'll be seeing any compromises like "sock noses" coming from this company. The funny thing right now is that they're having trouble finding the Rizzo fur. Even Puppet Heap doesn't have any more. I'm sure they'll locate it eventually. It's just one of many things we collectors don't even think about in making these.

:stick_out_tongue:
But the whole reason for the sock nose was due to the fact reticulated foam breaks down over time. So, has this company solved that problem when MR couldn't?

It appears EFX’s deal with Disney and Puppet Heap will help facilitate creative problem solving more than when the posers were at MR. At least that’s what I’m getting from it.

MR sank too much money into exploring the wrong methods for Gonzo's nose that they couldn't finance any other options. The sock itself probably isn't going to protect the foam that much anyway. I believe there will probably be more research and development with Puppet Heap. In other words a team of people who build these for a living will be able to come up with a better, more authentic alternative than MR staff and a factory.

Personally, I always thought they should have gone with a molded and painted plastic. As long as no option was to be authentic, they should have gone with authentic looking.

Well as we know Gonzo's nose has to be done over so many times because it is Just foam. So to get it right where it would last would seem like a problem, but I'm sure there can be a way.

One thing should be for certain - Puppet Heap would not likely sign off on or defend poor eye focus. I never understood how that could happen. I felt MR just ran out of money to develop the posers' final phase.

I'm looking forward to both Disney and Heap being heavily involved in these items. :super:

*Sorry for the double response guys, didn't realize we were up to page 13! Good Lord!*

Even though I finally got a Gonzo, I would have been more excited had MR gone with the reticulated foam. The buyer KNOWING all along that "hey this is the original materials. The foam may get brittle, and leave you with a nose-less Gonzo in 15 years of non-climate controled, not played with, in a glass case collectible."

I guess that's why I have no problems paying 3-400 per as long as the company is creating a COLECTIBLE REPLICA. I actually wished I hadn't had this life-long friendship with Kermit. I have touched and re-posed him to make him look as close to the puppet version as I could so many times that the wear is showing and I need a new one! However the attraction has left Animal and Gonzo in pristine condition. (am I rambling yet?)

Just gotta ask, How excited are we that the product line is just being continued? Yeaa for us!

OK I'm done.

I am a little more leary now that you say the Kermit is showing signs of age already. Do I really want spend that much money on something that is going to break down?

It's cool to break him in a little bit and fidget with him from time to time, but some of these other folk seem to wear their Kermit out. Trust me, if you're concerned about it you wouldn't allow it to happen. It's easy to keep the frog nice. How does one keep nice things? By treating them nicely.

The wear come from people constantly reposing him and messing with him. If you poss him the way you want when you take him out of the box and then just leave him alone you won't have a problem. It's the people that take him on road trips and constantly repose him that are going to have issues.

Like frogboy said, if you treat him well your frog won't turn on you (I had some bad tuna myself :embarrassed: ).

Exactly what those guys said, My issue is that I cannot stand flathead Kermit. Basically the way the ACTUAL poser looks. So I pull the eyes up to give his head the angled raised look as the puppet has, when being performed with a hand in the head. It makes it look right to me, but unfortunately I didn't realize that there was a seam running down the middle of his head. I hide it very well, and is barely noticeable but moreso between the eyes.
Plus I'm anal about his collar always being straight for photos, so that fabric has some wear. (I don't mean dirty) The body, armature, feet, mouth, everything is very very durable, and shows no signs of age. But as I mentioned, I just have always loved frog. When I got him initially I didn't even want to touch him or move anything. (That lasted a day) From there on out I probably re-posed him once a week. (with gloves on though) After that, everyone that came to my home wanted their pictures taken with Kermit. Sooo many of my friends have their Myspace, or facebook default photo set to them with Kermit or Animal. Ladies love the frog.

Kermit did go out for one trip, and that was only to walmart, wrapped in a towel. I had to have his (top and bottom)feet color matched for paint. I painted my boy's room "Frog green" (with the bottom of the feet being the same color as the collar) and painted the elongated upside-down triangles in the correct color around the top of the walls. Didn't I post a pic of that?

Now all three just stay put in my office but, I would definetely get another to pose once and leave-be.
