Out of curiosity, does anybody know how well the book Sesame Street Unpaved and the album Songs From The Street sold? I wonder if the success of either of those, along with the average success of Sesame Street DVDs in general, would help support a DVD collection like this?

another cover idea

Another great idea for a cover could be one similar to the picture on the muppets 550-piece puzzle released in 2003. The image on this puzzle was filled with muppets. Perhaps a sesame street picture like this could us the cover of the 25th anniversary musical celebration in the center of the cover, and then images of other characters could be added, with a title (Sesame Street in the Sesame Street sign logo and Golden Collection written underneath) at the very top. In addition to the picture mentioned, images of Slimey, Grungetta, Prarie dawn, Little Bird, herry Monster, The Count, Telly, Rosita, Zoe, Baby Bear, Guy Smiley, Sherlock hemlock, Biff, Sully, Rosevelt Franklin, and the two-headed monster coul be added.

Daffyfan 2003 and Kimp The Shrimp have posted in this thread, but yeah, it would be good if other people would post ideas of what skits they would like to see or what they think of this idea.

It would be cool if Sesame Workshop wanted to have the fans vote for what skits they wanted to see, and the top 20 (or more) skits that the most people voted for actually got released. If something like this happened I would vote for skits that haven't (to my knowledge) ever been released on video.

a test run?

If Sesame Workshop actually considered this idea, I wonder if it would be good for a test market version. Maybe released exclusively to video stores and have a limited run in retail stores like KMART, target, wal-mart, and toys R us, and see how successful those are.

The four discs could all be released seperately, with the packaging resembling that of the average packaging design for Sesame Street DVDs. They could be just the skits, and maybe one of the features. Maybe one episode of the show or a documentary, or even a photo gallery (if one feature could be included on each disc, then I would prefer an informative feature to see how popular these are with general audiences). Maybe there could be less skits then on the more collector-friendly version (for example, for each letter and number of the day, they could have less letter and number skits, and perhaps less skits with characters who appear frequently. For example, if a disc had 8 different ernie skits, the number of ernie skits could be reduced to 4 or 5 ernie skits).
