....

Just as long as they keep it jim hesons muppets and not turn them into stupid fairy tales,"kermit and the beast part12&3","sleeping piggy","ciderella meets the muppets", and they release all the past henson stuff on c.d./dvd then it would be cool....but if not please just put them out of their misery it's just not worth making cheesy "disney muppet" movies that are polically correct and look down and their audience like most of the disney movies...if it said something like "DISNEY PRESENTS JIM HENSON MUPPETS" that would be cool too just as long as they mention henson and have the henson people make the movies and tv specials/shows.

You know, its been some months...and yeah, I do feel betrayed by the Henson company.

How elated were we in 2003 when off the heels of the surprise edgy hit AVMMC they bought back their own company? Boy have things changed.

Someone said they are worried about generic classic retelling stuff? Well, sadly Muppets are deevolving back to the early 90's, with that Oz remake.

Muppets are one of the few things I still feel passionately about...as call me crazy, but there is something pure, and of balance about them...in the midst of this crazy world.

My vision was of JHC growing back, with Rivkin in charge, pushing them toward edgy boundaries...maybe making a movie soon. This Disney stuff, man. They didnt even buy Fraggle Rock.

I do not think Disney's lawyers and people realize that they will never change the fact that for most people around the world, Sesame, Fraggle Rock, etc will always be Jim Henson's Muppets. I do not want to see 'Disney's Muppets', in logo, ever. I dont mind them taking JH cursive handwriting off, but man...they need to keep at least their logo off. Its just symbolic decency.

Why has JHC forsaken us? Maybe in a year we will have answers, maybe this was all just a bad dream. Or maybe there is hope. I would like to believe the latter.

Right on, brother. Just label 'em "The Muppets" and we'll call it a day.

I don't know how I like it yet. They've not done anything with the Muppets yet. I know I DO NOT want to ever see Disney's Muppets there EVER!! It should just be read as "The Muppets" if they're planning to leave any part of Jim's name off the creation.

It's all still very surreal. However, I feel as though better things may be in the horizon.

RIVKIN in charge? Why would you want that. He was nothing more than dead weight, and a prime example of what was wrong with the company, ie, a over developed corporate structure, with lots of overpaid pencil pushers who couldnt even imagine their way out of a paper bag. He did nothing except cut the most valuble parts and assets of the company. He is also the one resposible for brokering that deal with those corporate nazis at EMTV!

Boy yeah we sure need him back. Oh by the way im being sarcastic. :attitude:

Quite frankly, this is an argument that can never be won. You say you have the good(disney) side of the fence?

Well its obvious, we have some right wing disney fans here.. and plenty of muppet fans.

Disney fans, Understand where we all are coming from.. We have practically grown up with watching sesame street as kids and then watchting the MS ..and developing a love for these characters that cant be bought. Beaker, I can relate to you.. When I saw that logo.. I could barely stand it.. If it is made.. it will be a sad reincarnate of DISNEY ideas.. I dont know whats happened along the way.. but sadly we have been led to this.

Actually he did most of the 25th anniversary stuff, re-launched the merchandising side of the brand so we have things like the action figures and other specialist products. He played a major part in the organisation of Muppetfest which sealed the deal for the VMX movie and kept the Muppets visible when there were no productions by finding ways for them to do advertising and TV spots. I would guess at various points he had something to do with the Disney negotiations over all the years. He did a heck of a lot when he had an incredibly hard job given the circumstances.
