I heard there was a deleted scene where Statler and Waldorf go up to talk to Kermit in his dressing room.

My friend had a book which has a pic of this scene.

But I was wondering, is this deleted scene on the DVD?

And does anyone have a screencap of it or a transcript?

Thanks.

Sadly no. That scene only appeared in the picture book and comic adaptions.

I believe I have that book too. It also featured Gonzo telling Kermit that they'd used a real minister and that he and Piggy had really gotten married! Still wish I could have seen that!

Anyone bother with the comic adaption know if they worked from the original script? I've read that certain ones that did actually preserved not ONLY scenes deleted from the movie, but also alternate scenes that were changed in the final filmed version. I have the TMNT original 1990's movie comic and it has QUITE a few scenes not used in the movie that are lost to all time, including a MUCH better ending with April and Casey trying to sell the idea of the TMNT as a comic book. And apparently, the comic adaption of Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey had quite a few bits that weren't used... like Bill kissing his nightmare version of his grandmother on the lips.

From the script:

KERMIT, still in three piece suit, but his tie is undone. He sits in the center of the room. A gooseneck table lamp is pointing at him and its harsh light bathes KERMIT's face. The MUPPET GANG are either seated or standing around him. They are half-dressed in their costumes. FOZZIE is directly in front of KERMIT.

FOZZIE
So the guy said to him, "Yeah...but I didn't know it was a *Koala* Bear!" He Ha, Wocka, Wocka ... get it? Koala!...

KERMIT
That's very amusing. (starts to stand up) But I really have to go now.

FOZZIE
He doesn't remember.

PIGGY pushes him back down.

PIGGY
Alright. Next!

GONZO enters.

PIGGY
Did you find a doctor?

GONZO
Not exactly, but close.

GONZO pulls MINISTER into doorway.

ROWLF
Hey, he's not that bad off.

MINISTER exits as STATLER and WALDORF enter.

STATLER
Someone said you needed some help.

WALDORF
We came anyway.

They stand in front of KERMIT.

STATLER
He'll remember *us*. You call this an opening night? I've seen better openings in swiss cheese.

WALDORF
Are those your eyes or did you sit too close to a ping-pong game?

KERMIT (starts to get up)
I've got a board meeting in the morning...

PIGGY pushes him back down.

PIGGY
Next!

STATLER and WALDORF exit as RONNIE and JENNY stick their heads in.

JENNY
How is he?

ALL the MUPPETS shake their heads no.

RONNIE
It's time. Dr. Teeth, you've got to start the overture.

DR. TEETH
Let's go.

The BAND exits.

FOZZIE
Oh, what do we do?

GONZO
I don't know. I wish Kermit was here.

FOZZIE (grabs KERMIT and shakes him violently)
Kermit! Please! Come bac to us! We need you!

KERMIT
Look, maybe you do know me, but I really don't remember *you*. I wish I did.

ROWLF
It's no use. We've been trying for hours.

SCOOTER
There's nothing left to do. We have to go on without him.

RONNIE
You'd better take your places.

MUSIC UP.

JENNY
That's the overture.

You know, I think that was filmed and cut. I've pretty much always noticed that when the scene in the movie starts, Floyd and Animal (and I think Janice, at least in the widescreen version) are seen (in the mirror), but then the band is seen in the orchestra, without them shown leaving.

I have the comic book adaptation, and while I haven't read it in a few months, I think Statler and Waldorf's dialogue is exactly the same in the comic. Well, I don't remember Statler saying "He'll remember *US*", but the insults are the same. Rowlf doesn't make a reaction to the minister, and Gonzo has dialogue to go along with showing the minister.

Does your copy of the script also include a scene with Bunsen and Beaker at the polka club? While not in the comic book, it is described in the storybook (not pictured). In the finished film when Dr. Teeth announces they're going to New York Beaker (as well as Beauregard) is shown with the band. And Bunsen, Beaker, and Beauregard are among the friends shown backstage when Fozzie asks if their friends can watch from backstage (all the others were shown in flashbacks of the other main characters).

I'm hoping to revive Muppet Freak soon and if i do one of the new features will be one i've wanted to do from the beginning - a look at the differnces between scripts and final versions of Muppet projects, so if you can stand a little wait/suspense, your other questions about TMTM (and the other movies) should soon be answered!
