Airborne and being aerosolized are two different things. If a person sneezes they can aerosolize their droplets and if infected, the virus can be in the aerosolized droplets for a period of time. When outside, this aerosolized spray dissipates quickly.
Airborne means it travels just from people breathing, which it doesn't.
