It might take a while, but companies, big and small, HAVE to pay you. If they go out of business, they are obligated to pay any wages you are owed. If they’re a small business, and they file for bankruptcy, a lien will be put on them until you get paid. This is a time being an employee works in your favor.
Other things can help too, like collecting unemployment, but that can take a while too. Where you and I live, Unemployment is getting 30,000 new claims every day. It’s like being at the deli or the bakery. Take a number and get in line.
As far as school goes, financial aid is probably going to be suspended until classes open again.
I know dealing with financial aid sucks. I was broke (even with working full time and 15 credits a semester) but I didn’t qualify. They thought because my brother and I were in college the same time (I was at Montclair State, he was at Rutgers) they thought my parents had bucks. NEXT!!!!

if you paid taxes last year (probably being college age, you probably filled out a 1040 EZ form) you qualify for the stimulus check. It’s a thousand bucks. When we get it is still in question. It might not be all the money in the world, but it will be something.

Fuzzy, I wish there were more people like you in this world. You know how to turn a negative into a positive. Thing is I wish I had the power like God to fix ever problem with a snap of a finger.

Well, God doesn’t snap his fingers and presto change-o, but he gives us the strength and courage to get through it.

But what I can do is be positive. I spent a lot of my twenties being negative and angry, and it got me nowhere.

As long as I’m here, I want to be positive and encourage people.

Start checking your bank accounts folks, people are already starting to get their stimulus money if they used direct deposit to file taxes.

Yeah, but that's what friends are for in times of great uncertainty.

I mean, the article does have a point, and personally, I am trying to keep my complaining to a minimum, because this is something we're all going through, so almost everybody else knows the frustrations, they're not hearing anything they don't already know. Plus, in many cases, it feels like complaining about "first world problems," y'know? Like, yeah, it's frustrating not being able to actually go into a restaurant to place an order, and it's a hassle trying to place an order online or over the phone, and then figure out if they can deliver, or if you have to pick it up . . . but, it could be worse: we could all be without food, so it's not like we're going to starve to death, especially if you're lucky enough to get stuff from the stores and make meals for yourself. Plus, it's harder for those who are still working in restaurants, because this is adding additional stress to them having to adjust to these new procedures, so they're under far more pressure than we as consumers are.

Likewise, it's also frustrating not being able to step foot into certain places because they're "non-essential businesses" and have to remain closed until further notice . . . because again, it's harder for the employees, because that's their very livelihoods they're not being able to receive for the time being, they have families so support, so how are they going to do that without regular paycheck coming in? A measley one-time stimulus check of $1,200 (that's coming out of our own tax dollars like a loan against us) isn't going to cover much of anything at all.

So, yeah. There is a lot of complain and vent about, which is understandable, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm just trying to keep it to myself, because again, we're all in this together.
